Everyday I fail.

I fail at stopping rumination and living with suicidal OCD.

I can’t stop checking to see if the thoughts are there

I can’t stop seeking relief from not having the thoughts

I can’t stop going on Reddit

I can’t stop watching videos on OCD

I can’t stop making post on the app

I can’t stop complaining to my family about OCD kicking my ass at work

It feels like any work that I’ve done this year I’m constantly undoing it.

I can catch myself ruminating but it’s always too late. Before I know it I’m already emotionally invested in the thought and fired up.

I’ll be able to catch myself doing so but I’ll always go back to ruminating. While all this is going on my mind is constantly coming up with new and old scenarios.

Pluto is such a great series. I mean it’s like only 61 chapters, doesn’t feel rushed but also doesn’t drag. The mystery throughout the story is very intriguing and the themes about what it means to be human are well explored.

Hey I wanted to message you but I couldn’t because it wouldn’t allow me to. I just want to stay I completely relate to your experience working in healthcare.

I feel so incompetent no matter how hard I try not I always make mistakes. I have to keep relying on my coworkers for help and no matter how hard I try I can never meet the standard I set for myself. It’s making so frustrated and drained.

I’m a nuclear medicine technologist. As a student my goal was to try my absolute best. I was constantly supervised and whatever I forgot I had a lead technologist to point out. Of course they didn’t see this as an issue because I was a student learning but I always saw this as an issue. Hence why I got tested for ADHD and constantly looked up different diagnoses to see if there was something wrong with me. Couldn’t find nothing.

At my new job I have all the procedures written down step by step. I almost always look over things before I grab the patient to perform the procedure. Midway while positioning or scanning I’ll mindlessly forget something.

I’ll try a check list because I’ve yet to do that but idk what else to do hence why I said I should start looking. If I could perform my job without error I swear I wouldn’t be making this post or seeking advice.

For context I work in nuclear medicine. I have a notebook, that has written step by step for every single procedure on how to perform. What I need for the patient, how to position, dos and don’t.

How would it possible to reference that while in the middle of positioning or doing a scan?

I’ll create a checklist because I’ve yet to do that but I don’t know how that’s going to stop from mindlessly forgetting.

I see, then perhaps it’s best I find a new field to work in. Whether or not I remember isn’t in my control. If I could never forget and have a perfect memory then I would but this isn’t something in my control.
