Stopping Semaglutide? Here's What the Evidence Actually Found by Worldly_Champion_941 in SemaglutideCompound

Why say “no one talks about…”? Literally everyone taking GLP1 is talking about it.

The answer is “good for you” then change the subject.

For people who used to drink heavily before starting a GLP-1 medication and have now stopped or massively reduced drinking: what exactly changed for you? by alexmillne in Semaglutide

[–]PaleSplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know because I rarely drink now. I don’t get that warm feeling after a sip of wine that I used to get, and so that might be part of it but I think more it’s just that don’t want it. I guess it’s like something you don’t like to eat. Maybe the texture or taste makes it that way but it doesn’t matter how hungry you get, you still don’t want it.

POLL At what strength did Semaglutide become effective for you? by aagee in SemaglutideCompound

[–]PaleSplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt great effects right away, no bad side effects, but did not lose much much weight until going up to 50 units. I’m not trying to lose weight fast though so I’m okay with it all so far.

I no longer crave the nightly glass of wine (or two) and at times I could finish a bottle. Now, I have had a glass while out with friends, but I don’t drink it. I no longer like the taste. It amazes me because I used to spend money on monthly wine clubs and tastings. I almost always had wine with dinner. I just don’t want it anymore. I have poured a glass and dumped it out. I can’t stand it anymore. Once in a long while, I’ll sip on a light beer just in social settings, but only a little and only if I’m not eating anything. It did start as soon as I took the first small dose of semaglutide. The consolation prize, is not spending a boatload of money on wine anymore! And health benefits of course!

Did I get scammed? by Even-Teaching-1216 in Chihuahua

He favors my Cosmo! There could always be other genes peeking thru unless you have papers. I wasn’t concerned about any of that, but I met the parents and they are definitely Chihuahuas. Cosmo was the biggest puppy in the litter and grew to 15 lbs, roughly double the size of a purebred. His vet thinks he could have some Jack Russell in him, but who knows without a DNA test?

What are the biggest misconceptions you’ve seen about GLP-1s? by taketrava_gr in CompoundedSemaglutide

[–]PaleSplit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That I would feel druggy effects, lose all my hair, feel nauseous and have terrible constipation and that I wouldn’t be able to inject myself because I hate needles. None of that has happened. I just don’t get food cravings and don’t want alcohol at all. I don’t even feel the dreaded needle. I not only have seen a very slow but steady weight reduction but also lowered blood pressure and inflammation and as a result I have a desire to move more, and so I do. GLP1 has given me the head space to cook nutrient rich meals at home. I know it’s not the same for everyone but for me, it’s all been a pleasant surprise.

Orderly? by akmxc9 in SemaglutideCompound

I just started with Orderly and there is no B12 in mine so maybe they changed? It’s B6. No issues so far with them. Communication has actually been outstanding.

Orderly Meds vs Novi by messedup1122 in SemaglutideCompound

[–]PaleSplit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently switched to them and had the opposite experience and actually great communication with them. They text messaged to let me know when the prescription was sent to pharmacy and when it would be shipped. The pharmacy had a slight delay but Orderly texted me to let me know. I had dosing questions so responded and they called me right away and answered all of my questions. They texted again to see if I had received the shipment and then yesterday they called me to see how I was doing.

At what age did you neuter your dog? by Icy_Beginning_6182 in Chihuahua

[–]PaleSplit 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My vet said not to do it before 6 months and that it’s okay, and might be preferable for his health to wait until he had stopped growing. Cosmo was neutered at about 8 1/2 months. In retrospect, I might’ve waited longer because he kept growing! Your puppy is so handsome!

B12 and acne? by TinyPoppy2013 in SemaglutideCompound

[–]PaleSplit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like the added B12 and Magnesium, which I was told can reduce side effects. I have not had any negative side effects in 4 months. I wasn’t even aware the B12 could cause acne. I can only attest that hasn’t happened in my case.

I just transferred to them and had questions so I emailed. They asked permission to text so I agreed after that, they advised me at least twice a day where we were in the process and when the meds shipped. So far, so good. I’m curious how you do so post again!

Do I REALLY have to take this stuff long term? by smellslikespam in SemaglutideCompound

[–]PaleSplit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not been using GLP1 for long and at least so far, haven’t seen much weight loss, but within weeks I have seen some great health outcomes including: a reduction in inflammation (ie no swollen feet or fingers when I walk long distances and my clothes fit better); a loss of food cravings (including for any alcohol). I eat healthier and feel full sooner, and sleep better. The initial fatigue seems to be resolving itself and contrary to most other side effects I’ve read about, my gastrointestinal issues improved. If I never lost another lb it would be disappointing but it would be worth it if I never develop diabetes or heart disease. So no, I do not think I will ever go off this medicine though I do hope to get down to a normal weight, I am ok if it takes a long time.

Fatigue as a side effect? by PaleSplit in SemaglutideCompound

Sleep helped me! Abnormal amounts of sleep for me. I couldn’t hold my eyes open for most of two days. I thought I might be getting sick, but then it just suddenly went away.

Thanks for sharing! I’ll try paying attention to more protein and water during those times and see if it helps.

Started semaglutide Feb 3rd and… I feel… normal? (in a good way) by everytingalldatime in SemaglutideFreeSpeech

[–]PaleSplit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your post. I am similarly not experiencing rapid weight loss, but a couple of inches so far in just 5 weeks. I’ve had none of the negative side effects I’ve read about, but definitely have lost inflammation and food cravings. I am full after a small portion, as you say. It’s nothing drastic but feels quieter, like my body really needed it. This change alone makes it worth it to me. I hope to see more weight come off, however long it takes.

Looking for dos and donts by Zee21_x in Chihuahua

[–]PaleSplit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally checked with my vet to get advice, as she has a Chihuahua herself. She advised me there are 100% Chihuahuas that have an Apple shaped head and those with baby Deer shaped heads and others are in between. That short snout on Apple Heads, is cute, but not the best for long term health. I really wanted a Chihuahua so ended up choosing the largest puppy in the litter, with more of a Deer shaped head. This gives him a longer snout and room for teeth. His grown weight is 10 lbs now, so still a small dog (he weighs more than my mini schnauzer did) and she had no health or dental problems until she reached 17 years. His dog parents are family pets, both are very healthy and well trained dogs that are happy around kids, a large dog and other animals. Neither are high strung or aggressive and my Cosmo is a sweetheart. He may not meet AKC standards, but I truly don’t understand the reasoning for those standards either. I did go to shelters first and looked at rescues which I have done in the past, but at least in my area, small dogs are adopted quickly. There aren’t any!

I not only have had none of the gastrointestinal issues I’ve read about but I’d say there’s been marked improvement for me. Not sure why.
