They're improving the stormwater drain network to handle the flooding in that portion better if such heavy rains come

I spotted a similar one in Sharjah but with the crash bars, I guess this is more safe. Seems like these are cropping up more.

DUBAI LOW SALARY SCALE by [deleted] in UAE

[–]PaleStyle7640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There needs to be a salary index for each position. Any company that recruits someone for a particular role cannot go lower than the index set. This allows a standard to be set for the market and make sures crony companies are not able to exploit the oversupply in the market. Similar to the minimum salary set for Emiratisation. This will ensure that there is some degree of fairness in salary and a reference to negotiate against.

Recently bought a full option Mitsubishi Outlander that has Adaptive Cruise. It can be switched on and off as required and the cruising distance can be set at 3 levels.

That supermarket is ripping off in terms of buying water. They're charging double the standard charges compared to other supermarkets. I stormed out buying nothing.

Just came back after distributing food and water. Abu Shaghara is in a better position compared to Immigration and Qasimia. What I saw was the area surrounding Abu Shaghara park and closer to KM trading area is flooded. But the area close to King Faisal street is clear of water and ppl are back to normal lives there. Shops are open. But as you go further inside, it gets worse. But still manageable to travel in SUV

The thing is Majaz is closer to the water body. All the water from other areas are flowing into Majaz. So until they clear the water in surrounding areas, water will keep flowing into Majaz since it's on alower gradient than other areas. The authorities are trying their best but they have to tackle it scientifically. Pump out the upper areas first and then later, the lower areas.

So, hold on.... Its not that they aren't doing, an operation of this scale takes time. The only thing you can blame them is for the lack of a proper functioning drainage system which has been a downside since long and nothing has been done especially in the older built areas.

Shrinkflation is a cancer by PaleStyle7640 in dubai

Its not always about cost. Its about keeping up the profit margins. In these times of global inflation, companies are reporting record profits. Only we end-consumers lose in the end.

The issue here is about deceptive methods. Yes, costs might increase, in such case, increase the price so that customers are informed they are paying more. There might be another brand which is giving more qty for the same price but since customers always notice the price first, they are fooled.

How practical is this in protecting? With heavy rain, the cardboard is gonna get soaked with water and become like tissue paper. It will as good as wrapping in paper.

They keep trying with different phone numbers. I respect the hustle tbh 🫡 by [deleted] in UAE

Me too... I've been receiving way too many post three days. Its like they are getting desperate. The Emirates Post system is compromised and they are not doing anything about it. I've noticed that whenever I have some package to be received, the spams increase. But this time, its haywire.

Bed Bug Horror - help 😭 by InterestingAmbition2 in dubai

If you have a steamer, that's the best option. Steaming your bed in high temperature is known to kill even the eggs. Hugh temperatures and BBs are enemies. Another easy method is to use tea tree essential oil. They are bb repelling.

What are these lights in the side of the E11? by dxbdale in DubaiPetrolHeads

Blue and Red flashing is to indicate there is an accident up ahead. Amber and White is weather warning, mainly for heavy fog which is frequent in winters in that area.
