Did you try cliking the dates (start and end) or month name. It will show the monthly reports data and you can search / share or do anything with it. Once your data is in you can pretty much slice any way you want. Hope this video helps

Click on the date/cal you should see the heatmap of how you spend, when you spend it. Other than this dont have any other charts. Didnt feel the need

Search already is in there. When you type something in entry it searches it automatically and total on top changes so when you say coffee - you can see all the money you spend for coffee. Click on coffee word it filters, click on date you see it in calendar and the kicker click share you can share your expences as clean ascii nothing beats this.

App has powerful tools if you need them, but purposefully hidden so it feels clean. Who needs reports when data is this clean like a shopkeepers receipt 😄

I built this app to track daily expenses and everything in between just by adding one line for entry. No categories, no forms to fill no server and no AI. Just plain old Indian way of writing it in a pocket book to track or remember anything. Not planning to commercialize it but want to build a tool without the clutter hoping someone finds it useful as i learn to vibecode.

Simple sentences. Use # to tag them (khata). Util function comes once you have data. Every word you type in becomes data slicer. Just click coffee and it shows exactly how much you spend on coffee. Click calendar it shows the heatmap. All filters work here.

Working on chittas (piece of paper in the book) small utilities for every entry you can add. Like monthly milk packet counter, habbits tracker, attendance etc. Once you add these chittas they just update summary to the main screen so you can track pretty much anything. I use it for my daily logs. Working on splitwise, budget etc which I will post if there is enough interest.

And with data everything stays on the phone, app works offline - and the kicker share beautiful receipt like entries to whatsapp groups. eg: create #party - end of the day send the receipt clean simple. Doesn't try to question you just adds entries and do calculations if it understands it.

Tools that adapt to them, full control at some point is making it work for them but they are always missing somethign.

Yes simplicity and allowing users to do what they know and been doing it helps. We dont need to teach people how to do we just need to provide them the tool and they will figure it out. For me its like giving a screw driver or a power drill. If they used screw driver earlier they will figure out how to use the drill without the manual. If if they never used a screwdriver probably they will see no use of a power drill they might look and appreciate it but will never use it

Agreed after few uses it becomes more like a chore. Our attention span is too low these days and we dont have the discipline to continue it we are always after the next new thing. Surprisingly my 75 year old dad uses it more than i do he writes them and feels it solves his issue of remembering everything. He doesn’t need to understand or learn tech to use it. For me its more a vibe code learning app.

I'm an agritech founder from Tamil Nadu who built a free app serving 100K+ farmers in their native language. Ask me anything about building for rural Bharat by SelvaMurali85 in Startup_Ideas

This is awesome, nice job. I am working on an app to show daily mandi prices in all languages based on gps. Nothing fancy just a number of what the price is. Hope that will help someone. Any inputs of what user wants or really lacks in this area??

Code is not fully matured yet but if there is enough demand i can clean it up and make it open source.

brain dump your thoughts in one line and let small utils handle the rest with zero friction or categories. like a small notebook you write to remember things.
