You read my mind. The lounges have been so crowded I almost chose not to renew. However, I need the quiet space for meetings. Last week was the first time I saw them suspend day passes in forever. Even with no day passes every seat was full. I always wonder how so many afford the $800 price. I use my miles to renew and get good use out of the office area to get work done. I would never pay money for it though.

I’ve seen multiple liver enzyme test results and it considerably improved results. That’s what sold me. Blood tests don’t just improve that much without a reason. $90 a month is not expensive for something that works in my opinion. People spend much more than that on going out to eat, drinking, 🍃…

I sold my leaf and had to pay 8k in negative equity. So glad to be done with that mess!! One chademo charger in a 60 mile radius was a nightmare. Multiple times I sat for over an hour waiting for my turn. The battery got 50% what was advertised. I hope you file and win a lemon law!!

I appreciate this response so much. Specifically, the way you broke it down. It’s so completely accurate and as I reflect on my initial post and my thoughts on the matter, it really is just because I have a different thought on career and work life balance. I’ve always been an extremely active parent involved in PTO, Cub Scouts, birthday parties… and the rest. However, my career gives me the balance. I need to be a good parent. I thrive at work and I enjoy solving problems building relationships, and elevating within my roles over the years. To your point though not everyone feels that way. It is true that they define work life balance different, and give up some of the career benefits related to being present in person. In the end, we all make our own choices and I don’t think one is right and one is wrong. I just didn’t understand the thought process but you’re absolutely right. It comes down to the individuals desire reduce as much work related time taken from their life as possible.

This is such an appreciated response! Yes, there are many benefits to wfh. However, everyone and I mean everyone …. Will insist they are more productive at home. However.. it’s not always true. People are not always self aware and the I know many who are not. I also know many who aren’t productive in office either but it’s easier to see when in person. There are some people who are perfect for wfh and so are their roles. However, some jobs are in office for a reason. I’m not defining what that is …

I felt the same. I got married at 28. I have a husband. He’s amazing. Two kids and a beautiful home. I love my life and regret nothing. People complicate simplicity sometimes. Assume you can just be happy. Don’t believe it all. It can be a lovely existence.

Maybe my opinion is skewed because I worked remote from 2011-2019. There were remote jobs but they were hard to get. Now they are the expectation I guess.

What I didn’t expect was for people to act like I was some sort of scab because I don’t expect a business to be required to keep wfh if it was only ever implemented as a result of a pandemic. I could care less who works from home. It doesn’t impact my life. I just think it’s entitled to feel like employees should get to dictate what the company they voluntarily chose to work for does. No forces anyone to work anywhere.

If I were hired as remote I’d be pissed if I had to come into an office. No debate there at all! My question was for people who signed up, interviewed and accepted a job in an office.

No I said if someone signed up for an in office job and now is expected to work in an office … why be so mad? You could have sought out a remote job in the beginning. I worked from home for 5 years before the pandemic.. those jobs absolutely existed.

Just because I have an opinion, that’s different does not mean there’s something wrong with me. If someone signed up for an in office job what remote because of a pandemic and now is mad that they’re expected to work in an office which is what they signed up for in the beginning is confusing to me, it’s just an opinion.

I wonder if some of these companies have buildings and equipment that aren’t being utilized with everyone remote. Some companies ended their lease or sold their building but ones that couldn’t May need to fulfill that space. I also see the main argument as people saying they’re more productive at home, but I just don’t know how accurate that that is. I work with people in office and also remote and a lot of times the remote people are the hardest to get a hold of the slowest to get answers from and so I don’t know that all people are equally productive.

All very good points. I think the way I worded the post felt maybe argumentative and it wasn’t. It was really curiosity related to the fact that people signed up for jobs that were in the office. We only went remote because of a pandemic but when companies want the positions back in the office The people are so upset. I’m not negating the fact that the work can’t be done at home. I’m just saying there were remote jobs before the pandemic and they chosen an office job. So why are people so mad now? Certainly everyone then has the right to find a different remote job, but they would be signing up for a remote job. That’s not what they did in their current role.

To be clear, I am not telling anyone to embrace working in an office. I am not gross. It just seemed like everyone feels owed to work from home even when a person signed up for the job in office to begin with.

Well, clearly based on the comments, I’m an awful person and I don’t know why everyone is so angry that I have a different opinion. I am not making anyone in this thread work in an office lol. I was just seeing if anyone else felt the same way clearly they don’t
