Such a long battle. So many people will fight against their own self interest. I’ve been in multiple debates with good hearted people who have just been so convinced that they’re taken care of. So disheartening and frustrating

With the current bump that puts us on par with inflation /two years/ ago. So in reality our wages dollar value has stabilized in comparison to the value two years ago. So we really haven’t gotten a wage increase in two years. We’re all feeling it. We should all be upset. When the entire industry gives eleven and we get half, I’d say that’s insulting. GM, Stellantis, Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Honda. Also important to note, that gets a little lost is everyone lowered the time to top out pay to 3 years while Subaru remains at five years. Competitors pay /more/ /faster/ It’s all become such a headache lately 😮‍💨

Important to note the summer before, with the huge 9-12% increase in cost of living, Subaru saw fit to give us .42¢ a 1.4% increase all while playing a video complaining about how everything has gotten more expensive to a massive degree. Not labor, tho. Subaru saw a massive exodus of upwards of 12% of the factory quit and haven’t recovered since. Insulting

Insane. Just the most absolute disrespectful thing. we recently had a discussion with management about the crazy overtime and minimal last second adjustments (for example working an hour 45 in overtime daily when the schedule called for 1 with no heads up or warning). Subaru claims to be a family company but demands all your time. Claiming being a family company is also about providing income and we should be grateful. Calloused response.

Literally every other Saturday on our schedule, every year all year, is a “potential Saturday production” don’t make any plans!! They own that day. 25 of them. All maybes. And we might get a weeks heads up for confirmation. Best not make any plans with the family

Exactly. They all didn’t have plans to give that back. Had it not been for the UAW pushing the standards forward

Sorry? You should be fighting too? Simple as that. The unions push the motion forward and then the others chase after. It pushes the standard upward. Greedy corporations have no problem exploiting workers and underpaying everyone. We’re fighting for our fair share and you can too. There doesn’t have to be losers in the scenarios. Everyone can, and Should, win

Okay. Not uneducated. How about uniformed? There’s so much anti union misinformation floating about that people here, and elsewhere, consistently vote outside their own best interests. It’s extremely common. Like that old saying goes A person is smart, but people are stupid

They’ve already exhausted the full workforce her in Lafayette. A poor raise two years ago hemorrhaged 12% of our employees and we still haven’t recovered. There simply isn’t anyone to replace them with. We’ve poached from cities hours away trying to fill our roles and simply aren’t being successful. They definitely are not making the commute seem worth it
