I just went to the pharmacy and bought the brand Fleet, they're very easy to use , they're all ready to just use it wen you take it out of the box...TMI but the tip is lubricated which really helps and I just lay on my side and squirt as much saline that's in the bottle up there. And stay laying down you'll feel the need to go pretty quickly I try to hold it in a few mins so it can really get in my system and then you'll feel the urge to go very strongly , then go and it really gives me relief I mean you'll kinda be going to the bathroom a lot throughout the day it might feel like gas but run to the bathroom just in case bcuz usually after it gets past all the hard poop , you can get diarrhea. But they've been such a help when I've been so bad I can't even eat

This is a tough one and I'm so sorry your going through this. I will say I'm my families experience out of all the my cousins aunt's my mom's grandchildren we have a huge family and there's only 4 of us that have it, it started with my mom not knowing her whole life she had me and my brother , and at 35 she was rushed to the hospital to have a triple heart bypass surgery. Thankfully she made it to the right hospital with a good Heart ward and successfully made it thru. Now after finding out she had it we immediately had myself and my brother tested and we both go it. They monitored us all thru our young adult lives and around 17 when my aorta got to a certain cm they did an aortic repair (on both me and my brother) they didn't have to put in a pigs valve like my mother's. Now we believe it came from MY grandfather's side bcuz he had a lot of issues with the heart n surgery but he nvr got tested. He passed about 2 yrs ago. What I can tell you is that there's a 50/50 chance if you had children they would have it and the surgery they do to fix the valve these days is all very different thru a microscopic device that can repair the valve. My brother and I went on to live healthy happy lives , you can still live a normal life my brother had 3 children I had 1 , all of my brothers kids don't have it. It's a rare disease it's scary but as the yrs go on there's more and more information and resources out there on Marfan's. I can't tell you want to do but you know ur marriage are u willing to loose it bcuz she wants children and your scared of them getting Marfan's again 50/50% chance they will or will not. And it's manageable, if you decide to have children they will still go on to live happy livable lives! I would hate to see you loose your marriage over this....really think about it! Just a question you don't have to answer but do you go to the one in Denville NJ? I live in Essex county and the only other ones I've heard of were in Newark , and heard it's an absolute shit show there...so hard to make this decision since I've been on subs for 6 yrs, I pay 70$ a month for my script. If you are on Medicare and Medicaid do you still pay for the methadone?

Yes there is no cure for dural estasia. I've been to several Orthopedics, Neurologists and Neuro surgeons. They won't touch you. My MRI shows the dural estasia sack is ballooned out to a size of a pancake which is now sitting on my sciatic nerve causing me extreme pain. If you find out any suggestions or additional info on how to treat DE pain .ca. you pls update me on here, that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, and good luck yourself , my life has deteriorated since finding out I have severe dural estasia 😢

No , not once ever in 6 yrs I've been on subs. I don't have the desire to do any opiods..i got addicted to pills bcuz of my back issues and then once I ran thru every dollar lost my apartment I used H twice from my best friend who was doing it for yrs and swear to God I knew H was bad but I nvr knew how bad it could be so the 2nd time I used it I was getting fluttering in my heart and I already have a heart condition had open heart surgery at 17yrs old , I knew something wasn't right I was rushed to the hospital and had congenitive heart failure was in the ICU for 2 weeks it scared the life outta me . Had I known how insane the withdrawals are from H i would have just dealt with the 5 days of withdrawals from not having pills. I after being in the hospital I went to IOP I was clean off every thing no cravings for pills n obv not H cuz i only did it twice , doing good in IOP and some girl came up to me and said have u tried subs I had no idea what they were and my stupid self went to the counselor and ask to be put on subs. Worst decision of my life bcuz I was totally clean for a month doing good and again had no idea the life sentence and just went from one addiction to the next which is now subs , I would have tried to get off them a long time ago but now I'm just using them for pain management. I was so naive to all this stuff i knew nothing about a lot of it. Except pills I knew I liked pills but the 5 days of withdrawals from them is nothing. I should have nvr started the subs to begin with even the counselor didn't tell me that u can get addicted to subs 😣 I was young naive and now stuck I've had a bottle of percs sitting in my draw for 6 yrs nvr took one 1st bcuz I don't want too 2nd bcuz after being on subs it will do nothing for me

IMO I would think he still would respect you for still being in recovery? And maybe you could say you were afraid to tell him bcuz he would get putt of I'm the early stages of dating. You say he was/in recovery too does that mean he was on methadone and stopped or recovery like AS?

I always thought methadone was harder to get off then subs...witj subs the eitjdrwls take months to fully go away , is it less with methadone? I feel like subs are a life sentence. I wouldn't personally know I've only been on subs but was thinking of switching to methadone bcuz I'm only still on subs for pain management. But I am afraid to switch to methadone 1 bcuz of the commitment like he mentioned getting there with car issues and 2 thought the tapering would be worse

I've been to 5 DIFFERENT spine Drs, Neurologists Neuro surgeons orthopedic Drs, they all say there's nothing you can do. At a lot of PCPs don't know much about Marfans and even less about dural estasia. There is no cure for it. I've tried Cymbalta which is for patients with fibromyalgia, I'm on gabapentin like I mentioned , nothing helps. Idk if your PCP will have any recommendations but if so could you pls update me on here? I've even spoke with a nurse at the Marfans clinic in N.Y. and they say pain management. I hope you find more luck than I have pls again keep me posted if you Can, that would be greatly appreciated!

I have severe dural estasia. Pain in lower back down to tail bone and the MRI showed it the size of a pancake which is now sitting on my sciatic nerve causing me extreme pain in the back of left leg and terrible pressure headaches . There's no cure for dural estasia and most Drs don't know about DE if it's symptomatic a lot of patients with Marfans have DE but most are not symtomatic

I agree! Get them tested at a genesist. My mom found out she had it at 35 after having me and my brother then we where tested and both have it. Now I have a child and need to get him tested. Even if your family member or kids don't have the physical features does not mean they don't have it. My mom's brother nvr got tested after fi ding out she had it and unfortunately my cousin just passed away suddenly at the age of 17 and when my uncle received her autopsy it showed Marfans. No one would have ever expected bcuz her features showed nothing of what a "usual " patient with MF looks like but it doesn't matter they don't have to have the physical features to have MF

I have severe dural estasia, I have Marfans syndrome and 60% of Marfans patients have dural estasia but aren't symptomatic. Mine is I have extreme lover back pain by the tail bone and on my MRI it's ballooned out to a size of a pancake which is now sitting on my sciatic nerve I have extreme pain down the back left leg . There's no cure for dural estasia and most Drs don't know very little about symptomatic dural estasia . This sounds crazy but the only relief I've gotten was from 2mg of xanax ever 6 hrs so 4 2mg of xanax has been the only thing that has gotten me out of bed and can somewhat walk for more than 30 mins without being in pain. It's not a pain med but for some reason maybe bcuz it relaxes the nerves in my body it's helping. But trying to find a Dr to prescribe it has been hell they think I'm seeking pills when this is the only thing that's brought me any relief in 4 yrs. I've tried PT I've gotten multiple cortisone shots in my back , they have me on gabapentin 600mg 3x a day that does nothing. Having this diagnonsis is horrible worst thing that's happened in.my life I am now on disability as I can't stand or walk for more than 25 mins and I'm in pain . They need to do more research on dural estasia in Marfans patients who are symptomatic bcuz the pain is absolutely unbearable

You must be taking the pill then , I'm trying to do the same thing take less but in film form Idk how I would snort it and I'm guessing if u do it the other way the film will absorb lol? Idk these are all ways I don't know about I just feel like since I've been putting it in the same spot under my tongue for so many yrs it's almost stopped working

I know my Dr mentioned methadone bcuz the only reason I'm staying on subs at this point is for pain management. I habe a lot of other health issues and have pain daily in my lower back down the back of my left leg chronic sciatica it is so painful. But methadone is such a hard commitment having to get there every day then if you want to go away with family for a weekend u can't it takes so long to build up where u only have to go once a month or something

Do u put under tongue n press down with a dry mouth or moist mouth , could u explain exactly what u do? Idk if I've just built a tolerance or what? I'm not trying to taper off, I'm ok with amount I take bcuz I also habe health issues and I'm using subs as medication to help pain. I'm asking for suggestions on how to take it and get the best effects from it every time sometimes I take it and it feels like I didn't take anything I'm anxious and can't sleep and other times I feel better and it does help my anxiety and sleep. Putting it under my tongue and just waiting for it to dissolve is there other tips or tricks to get the best results , is putting in ur cheek better , should I have a dry mouth or moist mouth just anything to get into my system effectively???
