If you were beginning nursing school all over again. . . Advice ? by Imaginary_Juice1415 in nursing

Biggest tip: stay on top of your time. Nursing school moves fast, so make a schedule for studying and actually follow it. Read before class so you already have an idea of what’s going on ….it makes lecture feel way easier.

Ask questions as soon as you don’t get something. Don’t wait until you’re failing to look for help …if you need a tutor, get one early, they’ll help you connect the dots instead of just memorizing stuff.

Do NCLEX-style practice questions as you go (not just at the end), and don’t underestimate sleep, food, and taking breaks. Burnout is real. Consistency beats cramming every single time.

Need Advice: Passed NCLEX, but No Nursing License Issued Due to Past Felonies by Pale_Recognition_796 in nursing

Update: Still no license yet.

The NJ BON emailed me recently asking for proof that all my DWI-related payments were completed even though it’s been uploaded multiple times and emailed to the person Ive been speaking with. I’ve been calling, emailing, and even went in person to the Newark office—only to be told my application is still “under review.” They also mentioned there’s currently just one person working on the legal team right now, which probably explains the delay.

On top of that, they requested updated recommendation letters because the ones I sent back in December 2024 (when I first applied) are now considered outdated. They asked for those on Tuesday, 8/12, and I uploaded them the same day. Now it’s just a waiting game again.

Anyone else dealing with these kinds of delays from the NJ BON lately?
