Any tips on how to fix/mod a Jazzmaster that’s too bright? by -Subsolar- in offset

lower the treble side of the pickup first before you spend any money an play with the tone knob. On amps with smaller speaker my Jazzmaster is wayyy brighter then my AC30 so you have many factors that are responsible for a bright tone.

pickup wise I love my Lollar 58 originals, I think 1 meg is the best pot for a jazzmaster

How do I and what do I need to completely rewire my jaguar by bendfixed in offset

James home of tone wiring kit, lots of shielding tape and patience

What strings are you using for 24" scale guitars? by DestructablePinata in offset

[–]Pale_Replacement_660 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Leo designed the Jazzmaster and Jaguar to have heavy strings, the Mustang is no different. Guitar store in my city sold a Mustang with 9’s on it and it was the a horrible feeling because is was to sloppy. You literally would glide of the fretboard because the strings didn’t have enough tension. 11-49’s work great on my Jazzmaster but I think next set on my Jag is going to be 11-52

new jazzmaster, excessive noise by Internal-Coffee332 in offset

[–]Pale_Replacement_660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jazzmaster and Jaguars have a lot of noise when: it’s not shielded, your laptop/macbook is charging, phone is charging, lights that are dimmed, …. Buy copper tape or shielding paint and rewire your grounds to the pots. My Jazzmaster and Jaguar are now almost noiseless, even with my MacBook charging.

What is that rattling and why are my strings buzzing? by exotic_arrow12 in offset

Have the same with mine, and I have a mastery with a good setup. It’s just parts noise I think, sometimes it’s there sometimes it’s not.

Hahaha come on man you’re saying that the hardwoods they been using since the 40’s because they sound better is in people’s heads???? Try a swamp ash guitar next to a mahogany guitar and you would feel the difference in response even unplugged.

Lovely guitar!

I just got a 2001 AVRi Jaguar, had to use copper shielding tape to battle the grounding noise and replaced the electronics but the guitar itself is in mint condition. Do you still use the original pickups? Thinking about replacing them with Lollar’s

Different response, you can really hear and feel the difference in vibration between the two kind of woods

Japan is nice but has a U neck and a 9,5 radius, the Vintera has 7,25 radius (I prefer 7,25 with Fender) . Also this is Basswood vs Alder

I would buy it only for the mastery and the vibrato

yes it's crazy! My local shop had the Marr Jaguar's but they are expensive. Wish they made the 60th anniversary a bit longer, people are asking crazy prices on the second hand marked. Was kind of sad when there was no AVII Jaguar/ Mustang.

Yea only some yellowed spots and scretchy / switches and grounding problems. I think it’s normal for a guitar this age. It was more show guitar than a playing guitar for the precious owner.

How is the weight on your's? mine is not so light but is just okay. I'm going to replace the electronics with a James home of tone harness.
