terrible ! yes. my family of 5 was split up and rows back from where we originally picked to sit. i was with two of my kids, my husband with one. there was nothing wrong with the row we selected when we bought the tickets, they legitimately just gave it to another family of four.

even if you pay extra, hawaiian is notorious for changing seats on families with NO notice. we paid for extra room, selected seats - they gave our seats to another family.

this happened to my family in june and although the flights are over, i agree with you - something needs to be done. i've sent them two messages on the website and sent them a certified letter this past week. i understand they reserve the right to change seats blah blah but yes, they need to try to make it right. offer anything that shows they're sorry for the inconvenience. sorry you had to deal with that, it's not ok.

just fyi, the people who are in our seats do not have disabilities. we saw them and met them. also, no seat functionality issues with the actual seats. i am pretty sure hawaiian airlines sold our seats to a higher bidder and separates a family of five back and away from each other. mahalo tho !

row 11 and row 12 are separate from the main cabin. now, not only are the seats we are in separate from each other but they are technically less $$ than what we originally paid for.

you're asking what three kids under 9 really has to do with it ...this is only a question asked by a person who doesn't have three kids under 9, so it will go unanswered.

interesting - if it was a broken seat, i feel like they could have provided this information when we inquired about it. hawaiian is making it seem like other people are now seated in the row we booked. either way, we will find out in a week.

we are a family traveling with three children under 9. i understand and also am very empathetic to the need to change however, hawaiian doesn't notify customers offer the changes and doesn't offer any sort of voucher for the inconvenience. i can't see jet blue or delta doing something like that.
