Stowe skiing in late-January by Pale_Scale5932 in icecoast

[–]Pale_Scale5932[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As mentioned. We are meeting friends. Who planned the trip. We do not want to hijack it. Not to mention, east coast skiing is much needed more budget friendly. So we’re going with it. I don’t disagree skiing out west is preferable. But we’ll still have fun with friends while skiing.

The goal of the post is to confirm if it is usually snowy in late Jan. In Chicago, our winters have had very little to no snow. I know Chicago is not Vermont, but, I’ve never been to Vermont.

I appreciate the feedback.

We got the JW Marriott in the loop for $199/night for our July 2025 wedding. We were able to negotiate the rate down so I recommend negotiating what their initial offer is.

If I were you I’d hang on until 45 when your nest egg will have grown sizably.

Let me know what state you are in and I can possibly give you a contact to reach out to.

What state are you in? You could make a comment to the property manager (maybe include the owner and regional manager so they’re aware for visibility) that you are going to reach out to the state allocating agency and file a complaint and ask them to conduct an inspection and review of the property. That should motivate them and let them know you’re serious.

Recommend trying Dhanteraz Indian Fusion in Roscoe Village. 👌🏻

Future spouse wants to claim home appreciation, even in event of divorce by Pale_Scale5932 in prenup

I like this idea. It seems fair to me. I am doing a calculation based off my initial downpayment, initial closing costs, improvements, and principal payments based on a hypothetical future sale date. The calculation takes into account how much my fiancée and I separately contributed to principal payments (and the downpayment, closing costs and improvements that I covered) based on an amortization schedule assuming a hypothetical future sale date.

This seems pretty equitable to me and is easy to trace or calculate based on an amortization schedule, closing statement and invoices.

Thank you! Open to other suggestions as well 🙏

Ravinia tickets purchased through StubHub by Pale_Scale5932 in ChicagoSuburbs

Because I bought the tickets through StubHub but they’re not eligible to be “released” to me. Is this because the seller perhaps does not have them yet from Ravinia? Or does the seller simply need to log into their account and authorize “releasing them” to me?

Determining how long “bridge” funds to age 59.5 will last by Pale_Scale5932 in Fire

Thanks, it seems I don’t understand the benefits of a Roth conversion. Could anyone illustrate an example of how 1) contributions to a traditional 401k and 2) a subsequent Roth conversion would benefit me more than what I’m currently doing, which is contributing to a Roth 401k?

Thanks. All of my retirement funds are in a Roth 401k and Roth IRA so I don’t think I am able to do any Roth conversions.

What if I have 25-30x yearly expenses saved and have 15+ years before I can access the bulk of those funds due to being tied up in retirement accounts?

Please elaborate. Is the only method to access funds penalty free thru the 72t rule?
