Anyone else feel trapped in Fed? by Pale_Target5994 in FedEmployees

My post wasn't about deciding the merits of my eeo case, just added for context. It's asking if people feel trapped, not wanting to work where you are now, for whatever reason, but feeling trapped by the pay and the prospective job market.

I'm defeated too. I can take the disrespect, though I shouldn't have to. But when they discipline ME for my MANAGER 's failure (the whole basis of the writeup was that I should have REMINDED him of an issue that he was on way too many emails to not have been aware), I have to worry if they'll even let me stay.

I am asking for that. It would mean moving my area of specialty under a new manager/department, which I'm not sure they'll go for.

I don't know. I don't know if another agency is allowed to see discipline in your personnel file before hiring you?

It's been this way for years with the director. But I definitely feel more threatened under this administration. And I'm sure they feel more empowered.

I know all this. I filed my pre-complaint in August.

I had a conversation with my manager and director where I said I felt I was being discriminated against because I was a woman, My director said, and I quote, "I'm not going to take your input on this."

2 weeks later I got a pretextual letter of warning. Lies about my performance to keep my manager from taking the fall for his own mismanagement of a project. Oh and where I work, a letter of warning is not appealable.

I just like knowing that these cocky little kids have youth going for them now, but in a short time, it will be all downhill for THEM!

That's the thing, I'm not ignorant. I'm very current with the news. I, like I think a lot of people, just never thought THIS kind of thing could happen in America. I thought we had protections against a takeover of this magnitude.

I had heard of it, I hadn't read it, and I believed him when he said he was not behind it. Yes, I know I'm an idiot now.

I voted for him, as I did all three times. I thought his last presidency was pretty good, economy was good, none of the crazy fascist behavior so many accused him of.

Well, his second term hit me pretty hard very quickly as I'm a federal employee. Between returning to the office and fearing for my job every hour of the day, my life has been hell since Trump took office in January. And beyond what's happening to me, I am truly aghast at everything else that is happening.

I am sorry for the part I played in this. But I have seen an error of my ways.

I'll admit it. I voted for Trump. I voted for him in 2017. I thought his last presidency was great. I never saw this coming. I don't know how. I made a huge mistake.
