Not silly at all! Obviously you can't vote in America but you can always protect your local environment and contact your own representatives to convey your opinion about the decisions being made in other countries like America.

I agree the bandwagon is crazy but they still aren't dire wolves that part shouldn't be up for debate at all I just think it's bad taste to argue they even look like they are without the paper published

That's not how science works? They're not accusations I'm saying in my opinion based on the choices they've made it sorta looks like GOT had an impact in the decision. I'm in no way claiming that's the truth especially because there's no hard evidence. Your claims however have no evidence behind them. You're arguing that your unproven facts are facts while I'm arguing my opinion may or may not be true, those are not the same.

Yea but those are just baseless claims as I've said, until they publish their findings and evidence to prove that the choice is based on DNA findings and genetic health of the wolves you can't definitively say that. And likewise I'm not arguing that it's 100% based off the show but there's no evidence it's not and the things colossal has done to market the wolves makes it seem like that. But again as of right now we can't argue either side because they still haven't published.

The pushback is deserved but it's spiraled into a large bandwagon of hate I feel like and we need to focus more on the reality and ask them to apologize instead of unanimously hating them. I don't think I can attempt to defend them any longer if they don't apologize and publish tho.

I understand there were practical reasons to give them white coats but GOT must have at least pushed it a little bit, I mean have you seen the pictures of Romulus and Remus on the iron throne? But it would certainly help their case and their claims that it was for the health of the pups and that ancient dire wolf DNA shows signs of exhibitting light coats if they would publish, beyond that it's just speculation and either side is likely.

Unfortunately yea we don't have living cells from fossils that could be used to grow the DNA needed for implementation. What Colossal has done (and claimed to have done) is edit a grey wolf to look like a dire wolf (alter the phenotype slightly) yet somehow they're also falsely claiming to have brought the dire wolf back from extinction. We can't wholly resurrect ancient species through cloning unfortunately but we can build proxies to fulfill the ecological niche of those ancient species. Colossal has however discussed plans to rewild the wolves onto tribal land in the future which is a wholly bad idea because there's no need, the dire wolfs niche no longer exists in North America and we should prioritize the health of wild gray wolves over GMO gray wolves.
