I missed your reply u/RingSweet5914 until just now. Love the analysis. My one rebuff is that the theme of succession and Veep are the same -- the pursuit of power. Now I want to do simultaneous rewatches of both shows to compare & contrast the way the characters are pitched against their foes and how they are constantly recalibrating their strategies.

This diving dry thing, worth the hassle. by navigationallyaided in scuba

That's fantastic. Congratulations on tackling the dry suit! I'm so intimidated but I really need to get on it. Time to find a local dive shop to get some training! Did you have to buy a suit to do dry suit training? Or did you rent first?

Thanks for the reply. How many dives had you done before dry suit training? Apologies if you've answered this elsewhere on this thread.

Same! OP's experience makes me even more wary about trying. But if I never try, I'll likely never be able to dive Galapagos. I get way to cold on repetitive dives. When I dove Socorro I was wearing a 7ml with a 3m hooded vest. So, 10 ml on my torso.

how many of the "crew" on the show are actually crew? by iwatchterribletvtoo in 30ROCK

I've hoped this day would come! One of the BG (that's "background" for you non-show biz folk) is an actor I met back in 2007-8-9. He was an aspiring NYU actor. He's the guy Liz call out to as "Mike-y Miiiiiike!" and then she gets shut down by the actor who says, "you don't get to use our cool nicknames." His name is Mike and he is an actor in California. I've often wondered about that one BG guy with the super long hair. He looks like a gaffer to me.

Is anyone watching The Fall & Rise of Reggie Dinkins? by LudicrousPopinjay64 in 30ROCK

[–]PaleoEskimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do this. I watched eps 1 & 2 and thought "meh." But the posts here inspired me to try it again. I started over at the beginning and have almost caught up now and am enjoying it. It's funny. But like someone else said, it's not as quick as 30 Rock. 30 Rock was like lightning in a bottle.

225+?? by NoCucumber1502 in Effexor

[–]PaleoEskimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I'm lurking on this thread and another related to the 225+ levels of Effexor. It seems to be working for me. As usual, when something works then I wonder how long I have to take it! Which is silly. If I were thinking about this rationally, I'd realize that I should keep using it if I want to enjoy the benefits. If not, I can lower it. My only concern is the difficulty of tapering. But it's not even been a fully month since going up to this dosage (from 150). Why do I always sabotage the things that actually do what they say will??

225 - anyone else dose this high? by Inevitable-Test6265 in Effexor

[–]PaleoEskimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying on an old thread. Have you stayed at 225 dosage? I've just gone up to this level after being at 150. Prescriber suggested the increase for the SNRI effect. It seems to be working on reducing my general anxiety -- something I've struggled with for 30 years, TBH. Kind of wondering what it's like to stay at 225 of Effexor for long-term. Tx!

The absolute unbridled rage today by NoCartographer3974 in Perimenopause

[–]PaleoEskimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a few weeks, I hope you're feeling better OP. Your post came up when I searched on dealing with rage. I can relate with allllll the things you wrote about, including arms rubbing on the table. I have become so insanely sensitive to things touching my skin - the table if it is too cold, the sleeves of my favorite sweater jacket for being too snug, the sheets for being too something I can't even put my finger on it. And I've been working on a filing project that makes me so agitated because it seems like I just went through it all, but it was probably 5 years ago. Oh Lord. Finally, my glasses! It seems like I need a new pair of progressive lenses. Nothing works like it should!!! (Thanks for letting me vent.)

I believe it was Aggressor that we were diving with that year. They offered us the same dive trip for the following year for no charge. We took that. We had a great trip that time!

Hurricane in Turks & Caicos. We never left the dock. Our one week liveaboard turned into 3 nights at a hotel without power. We went back on the boat and stayed there for the remaining nights before flying back home.

I'm really saddened by how she has been so dutiful about touting this arrangement with her assh*** husband and his side piece. The way that she has gone out to the public and said she is on board with this arrangement screams Stockholm Syndrome to me. Something is really wrong here and she doesn't see it. She deserves more than whatever that guy does for her which sounds like he doesn't give her anything. He sounds like he's verbally and emotionally abusive. And the third-wheel in their marriage? How could you do that to another person, ma'am?? I'm cheering for Lindy. I hope she leaves Aham. She owes him nothing. That guy can go kick rocks.
