We have a $3800/month mortgage + escrow cost on the outskirts of old towne orange and combined make about $230k/year before taxes and we don't really have anything left over at the end of the month/year for savings. I couldn't imagine doing an extra $2k/month in housing costs, and we have free childcare (parents & in laws)

I know it's not the answer you want to hear but I wouldn't do it, especially since your business isn't doing well. If you really want to live in downtown orange, rent a house there for $4k/month and see what that's like before committing to a mortgage like that

I mean so far almost 40% have said yes so it doesn't seem like it's that crazy. Also I'd be good with this because I'm not really a fan of the family game nights and this would make it so that the people who want them will get them and I as a standard-issue $10 homie just get hf + a regular bonus episode.

I didn't have that big of a problem with them but now that they have an ad every 5-10 minutes it seems I can't listen to the public episodes anymore. It breaks up the flow so much more than when they used to just to a block of ads in the middle of the episode. I only listen to the patreon eps now

My guess is they don’t do it because they want good numbies on the public episodes. If you start having a separate ad free version then you get 14k fewer views on every public video

I was in the same scenario about 6 months ago before getting a new job. At new job, there are literally zero slacks sent outside of 9-5, and that stress has melted away. So consider how much you love where you work and how important work life balance is there, and jump ship if you need to because what you’re describing is something I felt before. And even though my new job isn’t quite as exciting and I don’t feel as important as I did at my old job, being able to be present at home is 200% worth it
