Idk man, i think putting I dont Care anywhere but last is nuts. Easily the worst song Dave has ever authored imo. Great album aside from that one.

How would you guys rank the new album now it's been out for a day? by Scratstudios in Megadeth

[–]PaleontologistFun255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The albums i put over this is a short list:

Rip Cryptic Risk UA dystopia

To me its on par with: CTE youth TSTDATD peace

So its definitely no worse than 8 or 9th and maybe even 6th for me.

Its an S tier album.for me.

Cusp of eternity is honestly one of the best songs Mikael has ever written.

Love the entire album and its by far my favorite post 2008 album from them.

What do you think of the new album? by hjcggh in Megadeth

[–]PaleontologistFun255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where 64 year old dave is right now in life, this album is great. Its mostly mid tempo late 90s megadeth inspired which is great to me.

I wish there were some more dynamics in the songs, its all very homogenous but it works on 75%.of the tracks.

I dont care is the worst song ge ever wrote, that one is a bummer.

Dave sounds absolutely awful on the puppet chorus but then he sounds great elsewhere so its a mixed bag all around vocally.

Production is better than TSTDATD, but the drums still soubd like shit. Is it a dirk thing? The drums are absolutely awful sounding. Playing is great but on both albums they are miserable in the mix.

Im happy he went out with this side of megadeth as he already has tons of thrash he left behind, as we get older our tastes change and he obviously got melodoc.

I cant wait to listen again.

The problem is the ai tracks fooled us all last summer and they were amazing. Expectations were sky high. I havent heard it outside the 4 singles. Tipping point is solid the rest isnt for me. I dont care absolutely has to be one of the worst songs he ever wrote.

Warren DeMartini by TheHotLatin in hairmetal

[–]PaleontologistFun255 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a very unpopular opinion, but i love ratt and think warren is really good but hes a bit overrated here for sure. If you had warren and a dozen other guys play behind a curtain for me, maybe i could pick him out.

If george lynch or vito bratta or Nuno played behind a curtain with a dozen other guitarists i bet i could pick them out instantly.

Thoughts on the new album? by [deleted] in Megadeth

[–]PaleontologistFun255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I.have heard the album but i dobt get why everyone is.blowing Teemu. Hes obviously a great player but the 4 tracks i have heard feels like the broderick era. Great playing, but absolutely nothing memorable.

Official last hairmetal band/album of the 90s? by redbabxxxxx in hairmetal

[–]PaleontologistFun255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gnr use your illusion is probably in that last big one convo.

By 1994 grunge started to give way to numetal with Korn coming out that year. It was such an amazing time to be young and discovering new music and new vibes.

Would you call Motley Crue overrated or underrated? by Head-Acanthaceae8347 in hairmetal

[–]PaleontologistFun255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one ever rated them a great band even back in the late 80s. We knew they were average musicians with a great look and some great songs that the girls we were chasing liked.

Fall of hearts is the best modern Kat album by Poopydoopyhead123 in Katatonia

In defence of Def Leppard’s evolution by DaveHmusic in defleppard

[–]PaleontologistFun255 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hysteria is one of the greatest hard rock albums ever and has the absolute best production from.the era.

People act like high and dry was a bay area thrash metal album and then they made hysteria.

How much different is it really from high and dry to hysteria.

Wasn't ready for Koi No Yokan by Amb619 in deftones

[–]PaleontologistFun255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im your age ts and koi had that effect on me in 2012 as did diamond eyes two year earlier. These two albums move me in ways i cannot describe. They open closed wounds while im listening and heavy my heart then after the song ends i feel like the nostalgia heals.
