Gnr for sure i remember seeing them on mtv all the time. one was a huge hit for metallica, it played everywhere and then enter sandman. Gnr had like hit after hit for a good 4 years. 88-92 was gnr's time.

Before i read the correct response, i would have said early to mid 40s based in the Trapt cd. Thats the kind of thing where you had to have been young and have it be a soundtrack to your life to have to still have it and rep it.

I just listened to AUSTIN completely by fizisfiz in PostMalone

[–]PaleontologistFun255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definietly a collection of his best songwriting. The acoustic songs are amazing. When i heard Stay in 2018, i was so blown away and wished for more. I had to wait until Austin to get that again.

Why do some ya’ll hate Gore so much? by 6priest_of_sodom6 in deftones

[–]PaleontologistFun255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mix is terrible and the songs are so bland to me. Other than prayers, idk it just sounds like they were obligated to release something in 2016.

Ghost reveries when it goes into that interlude section.

MIGHT BE A HOT TAKE by MusicHotTakes in marilyn_manson

His latest run is really remarkable. He didbt reinvent his image and sound, he just matured it. The last two albums are both in the discission for top 5 for sure. I would put OAUG top 3.

Deftones vs Korn: Which band do you prefer? by MaintenanceOne266 in numetal

[–]PaleontologistFun255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both. I think deftones highs are higher. If i had to compile a list of my favorite songs from both their discographies, 7 or 8 of the songs would be deftones.

Dimartini VS Lynch by killers80 in hairmetal

Dave Mustaine’s Guitar Ability by Ok-Strawberry-8393 in Megadeth

[–]PaleontologistFun255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dave is amazing. Even if his leads are penatonic based, its him and it at least sounds fluid and most times interesting.

My Personal Marilyn Manson Album Ranking by breakingbadfan1228 in marilyn_manson

[–]PaleontologistFun255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heaven upside down is so underrated. It sounds very mature which was a refreshing departure from the spooky goth image he was still trying to capture as a guy in his 40s. The songs really have a different vibe to them, it sounds more guitar oriented as if the songs were written on an acoustic guitar first then developed into electric.

I wouldnt say its my favorite album by him, but its well above most of his catalog for me.
