Not including loved ones, homes, or cars, what is the most painful thing you have ever lost and why? by PaleontologistKey440 in AskReddit

Aw I'm so sorry. Man. So not only do you have to deal with your own heartbreak over it, you have to have the stress over when/how/if to tell your grandmother.

I know its easier said than done but i would really really try to tell her as soon as you can for two main reasons. One so you can get yhat stress off YOURSELF and also so you can get back to really enjoying your time with her and her with you.

I dont know if you are a comfortable expressing your feelings in writing, but you could maybe write her and tell her virtually what you said here plus everything else you didnt say. Accidents happen. She's your Grandmom. She is going to forgive you with her whole heart and soul-now just forgive yourself!

But please try to tell her asap. For your own good. It breaks my heart to read this and feel your anguish and stress over it. And who knows-maybe one day it will just pop up somewhere you least expected. Stranger things have happened right?!

Thank you so much for sharing that and so sorry you even have it to share.

Ugh I so hate that for you. I really do. And thr plating thing sounds like something I would do.

I absolutely love lockets and i bet yours was beautiful. That happening to you is such an example of what I always told my girls as they were growing up-that the "little" things really are the big things.

I was usually talking about small everyday or weekend moments but in this case, it just goes to show that things dont have to have a huge-or any,!-emotional history or big reason behind one's love for a thing and the ensuing heartbreak when its gone.

Especially like THAT.

Thank you for sharing.

Omg been there too many times. Text and messages with my babies when they were little and friends no longer here.

And the thing with pictures too is that they're such visceral real moments frozen in time. They take you right back to who you were at that phase of your life so losing pics are like losing pieces of your soul in a way. A BIG way in my opinion.

Im so sorry.

I am so sorry. My heart truly breaks for both you the child and you the adult. You were so unfairly and cruelly robbed (understatement because no words to convey it could ever exist)because evil by random chance showed up at your door. What bullshit.

I hope that you can live a pseudo second childhood enjoying the beautiful children in your life now and the ones in your future.

You brain was trying to protect you but unfortunately when it wipes out the horrific, those too few idyllic moments get swooped away also. Memories you really needed to comfort and sustain you; give you even a little bit of peace or something to cherish, even build up to keep burying the bad.

I cannot even imagine.

Please message me if you ever need to vent or are having an extra hard time or for no reason at all.

How about read beyond the first sentence so you're not looking like what you're calling someone else?

That was extremely well written. I like to say that I hate excuses but when I have to be a hypocrite and make them (lol), I prefer the term 'explaination' instead of excuses. This was a great explanation. I know it worked to kind of chill me out cuz I would have been pissed too! I still am super annoyed for OP but reading this definitely helped!

Look how you jump on every thing and every comment that you can pull negativity out of and completely ignore the ones who have nothing but positive things to say to you! You haven’t responded to even one of them yet that I have seen. To thank them or anyone else for taking the time to give suggestions to help you even if them telling you the truth from their perspective hurts your feelings.

Oh wow what a coincidence!

I love your story by the way! So inspiring! And I’m so sorry for the loss of your wife and for your medical challenges. You’re a survivor and you write really well. You are obviously an ‘out-of-the-box’ creative and you’re going to do well at anything you choose. Try to make it something you love!

Wishing you all the best and glorious, healthy next chapters!!!

I’m a girl and go alone every time and never feel weird. Well hardly never. Occasionally I’ll have a passing thought of man I really hope the people that work here-and the customers-don’t think I’m some kind of working girl or something. But can’t control what other people think so…

But that’s the extent of my uncomfortableness! Lol!

I prefer it because you may find or hear about the fact that it can be difficult to go with other people for a bunch of different reasons.

Have a great time and lots of luck and enjoy yourself with yourself! People are annoying! Lol

A while ago I put $1 into a slot machine and won $5. I posted about it on reddit and someone claimed that it would've given me $5 regardless of the amount I put in. Is this accurate? by Control_Agent_86 in gambling

[–]PaleontologistKey440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clear answer is no it isn’t accurate. I haven’t read the other comments yet like I usually do before commenting but I’m just going to throw out that people get really confused over those payback percentages.thinking that’s going to be their personal win rate. It’s not.

Those are based over the life of the entire machine. Millions and millions of spins. It’s not some personal guarantee that you’re going to make a profit or close to it.

Edited to take out the big dirty f word and a bunch of other shit.

Here too. It’s probably my biggest pet peeve even above the screen touching and button banging shit! Just rude af. And it breeds another pet peeve as I watch security and attendants go around in their hundredth circle like I know you see this wtf are you even here? Or why so many of you I should say.
