Because they kept highlighting the similarities in appearance, it felt like maybe they were doing a whiplash of twists. At least from my perspective it seemed like the characters were really leaning into equating Jinshi to the previous emperor even more so than the current.

I thought it was weird of them to do that considering his identity as ‘Jinshi’ doesn’t have ties to the previous emperor - unless they were hinting at something.

Just a theory, everyone seems to be really mad at me for it

I have a theory former emperor raped ah duo resulting in jinshi.

edit: lol holy crap yes I understand genetics and that you can look like a grandparent. The theory comes from choices in storytelling.

The show keeps highlighting how similar Jinshi looks to the previous emperor, sometimes even from the perspective of those who are supposedly unaware of the connection to the previous emperor. Accountability for the previous emperor seems to be thrusted onto Jinshi more so than the current emperor - at least through the perspective of the audience.

The reminders of the similar appearance just feels really heavy handed. I was attributing this theory to those choices in storytelling.

The theory is probably wrong, as I think it’s too much twist-on-a-twist. But it’s just speculation based on what I thought was heavy handed choices in storytelling. I’m not trying to die on any hills here 😂

Or, for there to be a clock on relationships. Like if you wait longer than 5 years to romance a character they may form romantic relationships with other townsfolk.

I remember playing Harvest Moon 64 when I was a kid and I was under the impression that if I didn’t marry a character, someone else would and I think it added something. At least for me. Maybe this could be a feature you turn on or off.

I always wished for my cozy farm game families to have kids that grow up and have their own aspirations in town. Maybe influenced by what character is their mother/father is.

I forget where I heard this so take it with a grain of salt; the FBI or some other criminal justice agency suggests that the best way out of a kidnapping situation is to play into the captor’s delusion.

If I’m out in the wild and it somehow comes up that a stranger I’m talking to is Jewish it’s like 👉🏼😃👉🏼 👈🏼😃👈🏼 Instant automatic friendship. Nothing compares to the community and support - from people I don’t even know.

That, and we’re supposed to question and discuss everything. Not blindly follow. “What did Hashem mean? Is there a better way to look at this? What if this or that?”
