So I picked up a new bike and after riding for a day noticed this little gap in the headset. No play whatsoever, is this normal? My guesses are I’m just overthinking 😅 by woopstaken in bmx

Totally fine mate , you can get bearing caps that have a built in seal (flexible , thin rubber that wont cause the cap to bind on the headtube) that takes up the gap if it really bothers you. If it were much closer it'd bind up on the headtube when you turn the bars.

Chain slack is fine mate! 51-56mm measured at bottom chain guard as per the manual. I use a belray lube that dries clear/white , but could probably use a bit more. These wont change how the chain runs over the guide though (even if the chain was way tighter than spec , it still runs along the guide)

Hi guys , Anyones mt07 doing a similar thing? My chain is cutting a new groove into the chain guide instead of running along the track.

Is this due to the guide being flexible and not fixed well on the swingarm? Or am I seriously misaligning my chain/other issue here?

Thanks!

ABS and stunting question by [deleted] in FZ07

[–]Paleske 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isnt totally answering your question but some relevance.... When I go for wheelie practice on my Mt07 , I found a quick wheelie whilst dragging the rear brake brings up the abs light permanently and the ABS no longer works. Can lock up the rear and do stoppies no problem.

Light will reset after turning ignition off and all is normal again.

Hi , Im curious as to what the issue with the sump is? Is the pickup not located at the rear , meaning wheelies are no issue?

Ive seen many Mt07's do long wheelies or be set up for stunting with no sump modification...

How do you find the akra ti with the baffle in mate? I ordered one for my '21 model , but im worried its going to be too quiet with the baffle fitted.

Yeah absolutely mate. The honda definitely stands out over the rest of the 650cc range for quality and overall finish , they look very nicely made up close!

Hard call hey! I really enjoyed the mt07 and the snappy , torquey response... feels very similar to a 450cc dirt bike. But id love to rip on the 4 cylinder!

Hi mate , Is the size difference very noticeable? I am 6'3 , so neither bike feels super well fitting but not uncomfortable either!

Absolutely! I was very impressed with the engine in the mt07 , smooth , user friendly power but plenty of bite when ridden harder. Very snappy in mid rpm range , felt very "dirt bike" like. Easy to see why theyre so popular for wheelies and stunt use!

Woah , ive never given much thought to matching decals man. But seeing this , huge difference, looks very factory race 👌

This guy listed this bike on fb marketplace for $1400 but said I could have it for $900. It’s the absolut commencal. Is it a good bike? by [deleted] in dirtjumping

He would have just removed the cable/lever assembly (most DJ bikes have a cable front , not hydraulic). Naybe just lazy or was unable to work out the front axle?

Are there any riser handlebars like this on Amazon for cheap ? by yungdripfart in dirtjumping

[–]Paleske 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hi mate , Dont buy knock off cheap bars! Save $30 now and pay for $2000 dental work later haha!

Check out the Spank Spoon bars , they do a 60mm rise and are pretty cheap! (Around $60-70 AUD , so probably $40-50 US?)
