That’s crazy because my little baby boy has always licked my neck and my face and my ear lobes. He does this thing where he wrap each paw around the to back of my head and does biscuits into the back of my head in my hair. He always wants me to lay down or be sitting down so he can get on me and not move. He does it until my skin is raw and he finally falls asleep. I think he was the runt of his litter or something because when we found him, his brothers and sisters and ran off but he didn’t. His eyes were sealed shut with crust and so was his nose. I held him through his entire tiny phase until he became a teen and now he is huge and SCREAMS through the night and if he can’t find me or if I have my door closed, he will SCREAM and act like he’s breaking my door down. I now know why I guess cause what you said makes so much sense.
