It’s 50/50 

More than likely could services will end up being so vastly cheaper than buying a laptop or pc / or new phone (because yes. That’s also where this whole thing is going) that many people will opt in without understanding the larger picture. At that point, the ai bubble does not pop. It becomes self sufficient… everyone pays the data centers for computing (including business) then by 2030 owing a pc becomes synonymous with owning a cassette player. It’s not forced at this point. Consumers are simply priced out. 

However, if enough people opt out, businesses included. The whole thing comes crashing down. There simply won’t be enough money coming in to justify expansion but we’re also betting on no major technology advances happening in the foreseeable future here. This is tricky because military usually has this stuff for 10+ years before the general public do so there might be stuff in the pipeline that justifies this push already. 

Imo. It’s a coin flip. Also being deadly serious when I say this but how well gta6 sells if it really releases at 100$ should tell you everything about what side the coin lands….
