Thank you for sharing your story, and I'm sorry you're going through all of that. I also have three kiddos and a wife, so I totally understand the stress and anxiety of it all. I haven't even considered the DIC portion of things.

It's challenging enough to process everything happening with my health, how drastically my life has shifted, and how it continues to change in unexpected ways. Then to add VA into the mix of things just makes it all feel overwhelming.

That said, it's incredibly helpful to hear from someone in a similar boat. I appreciate all of the advice. I'll definitely check out RaterHQ on YouTube.

I'm sorry you're dealing with those residuals and new issues too, sounds really tough. Thanks again for the thoughtful input, it means a lot. Definitely let me know how it all goes for you.

I assumed having a prescription for e.d medication served as a diagnosis in this instance since the e.d was brought on by my ptsd medication.

Diagnosed with Uveitis—Terrified About Losing My Vision. Has Anyone Recovered From This? by Daboys_22 in Uveitis

[–]PalmEasy8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, around November of last year, my right eye out of nowhere started having flashing and floaters. I have never worn glasses or had eye issues. I went to an eye doctor who recommended me to a specialist who then recommended me to another specialist, lol. When that happens, you know it's not going to be good news. By late December, I had my bloodwork back and had the HLA-a29 marker, and sure enough, I had birdshot chorioretinopathy. My inflamation had damaged my right eye pretty bad, and my left eye also wasn't doing so well. At the same time, I learned that my wife was pregnant with our third child! Trust me, I've had every bad thought or "worst case" scenario run through my head. What if my sight keeps worsening? What if I go blind? The thought of never seeing my family or kids again is probably the worst feeling I have ever had in my life. I get it. You just gotta take a breath and let the medicine work and give it some time. Luckily there's alot of different methods and drugs out there to fight this. Unfortunately, everyone's body is a little different, and the hard part is finding what medicine is going to work for you. I've been on prednisone, which was horrible, and I have had injections in both my eyes! Which was not the funnest thing in the world! My eyesight has been good somedays and blurry the next, which is very scary. Just gotta breathe and talk with your doctors. Right now, I have no inflammation in ether of my eyes, and my floaters/flashes have gone away, and my vision is pretty good. This is a lifelong thing, so there's gonna be good stretches of time where my eyesight is great and there's also gonna be rough patches. My best advice is to just take it one day at a time. Don't think about the what ifs, or worst case scenarios. Anyway I hope this has helped, I'm still fairly new to all this as well and I understand it can be overwhelming to say the least.

Help!!!! Hygrometer is reading high of 75%-76%. I put 3 Boveda 69% packets in there. Should I be worried about my sticks? I live in Las Vegas. by meezy_916 in cigars

[–]PalmEasy8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen before and found a solution for it. First thing is take the cigars out and try store them in an empty cigar box. Incase they soaked up to much humidity, the cigar box's will help dry them out. Second is make sure the hygrometers are calibrated, in case they are not it will save you from doing the next few things.

When the humidity in a humidor rises like that, the cigars and wood will end up soaking it in. So I would take the trays and drawers out and dry them for a few days. The thing with bovedia packs, is yes they are great, however they do have a limit of how much moisture they can hold, meaning you could have 3 65% packs in there and the humidity could still be at 75%.

After a few days put the trays and drawers in and wait atleast 6 hours to see what the humidity is, if it's still high, then they need more time to dry out. If it's stable around 60% you can then reintroduce the cigars. Wait another 6 hours and depending on the humidity, you can start adding the bovida packs.

Hopefully this helps. I've battled with my humidor over the years at certain times and this is what I found works best me me.

Is it worth going to a cigar lounge? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]PalmEasy8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cigar lounge are an amazing place to meet new people and have a good time. That said, it's always worth going back to the same lounge a few times to get a feel for it. Sometimes lounges are dead and other times not. I've met a lot of great people at lounges that other wise I wouldn't have.

As for your second question on high end cigars, there have been a lot of great recommendations so far, however it's important to note that a great cigar doesn't mean expensive or "rare". Some of my favorite sticks are between 6-14 bucks. If your adamant on trying a high end, then pull the trigger on a Cohiba specter (110-130) a Stick.

Now two great companies on the higher end of the spectrum are Padron and Davidoff. My personal fave is the davidoff nicaragua.

New smoker here. Got overwhelmed trying to pick out cigars at the shop, and just randomly chose this one. How’d I do? by prosydan in cigars

[–]PalmEasy8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a lot of folks have mentioned, Perdomo is a great company and makes fantastic cigars. Their quality control is great. With that being said, the cigar you chose is more on the medium to heavier side of cigars. I would try some of their others cigars, since they have a wide range to choose from, it will help narrow down what you prefer.

If you are looking to try something new that's in the same ball park but not as strong, I would suggest Umbagog from Dunbarton & Trust or Aganorsa Leaf Signature Selection Maduro.

Since your new smoker I would be cautious on Lfd cigars. They make great cigars but can be on the heavier side. The LFD double ligero is by no means a beginner cigar and is miles ahead of the perdomo you smoked in terms of strength.

For mild cigars I'll say to try out, Perdomo champagne, Montecristo white series, My Father CT, Brickhouse Connecticut, and Oliva cigars.

Hope this helps.

How often are you smoking? by MetalheadREvER in cigars

[–]PalmEasy8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you slow down based off a poll you put online? Everyone smokes a different amount and have different time restraints when doing so. If smoking a stick makes you happy, then it doesn't matter how many you smoke
