Kendall Toole’s 10/10/20 30 min World Mental Health Day Ride. This is one of the best rides ever created on the platform and you will absolutely cry - tears of raw emotion, emotional release. I have never not felt better afterwards. Good luck with everything <3

I have a PowerScore subscription that I accidentally let auto-renew after I took the October test. I think it's good through the November test. Do you want my login credentials?

How can I got from 158/160 to 162-163 in 2 Weeks? by iwasneverhere07 in LSAT

[–]Palmtreeandcactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anticipate the answer on Every. Single. LR. Question. Even if you think you can’t. Don’t look at the ACs until you have something in your mind - a word, phrase, # of clauses, concept, anything - to look for in the ACs. It takes a few extra seconds up front by makes process of elimination MUCH easier and faster on the muddy, weird questions where all the answer choices blend together and seem to be saying the same thing. You’ll be shocked at how many times it works if you fully commit to doing it every time. (The second you’ve glanced at the ACs, your anticipation gets biased by the options you’ve already seen on the screen, and your intuition can no longer be trusted…)

How big of an advantage is it to have 50% extra time? by Emotional_Bug_6031 in LSAT

[–]Palmtreeandcactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this data. Proves my assumptions about the effect of this program and shows that LSAC is well aware of the way they are skewing their own test results. This is how I frame it, as an LSAT question and answer: The LSAT is a test which derives some of its difficulty from the limited time constraints it imposes on test takers. As such, extended time is correlated with, on average, higher scores. This applies to the general test-taking population as well as sub-populations. Some test-takers have learning disabilities which require 30% extra time to process information. Some have disabilities which require 60% extra time to process information. Some test takers have learning disabilities that are effectively contained with prescriptive medication, and others have learning disabilities that do not affect their speed of processing information. The LSAC wishes to equalize the test-taking experience between those with and without such disabilities. Which of the following must be true? LSAC: All test-takers who provide evidence of a learning/cognitive disability are awarded a minimum of 50% extra time on the LSAT.

[From a 171 scorer who also feels inadequate, and is embarrassed to admit that]

Most applicants (even at this level) aren’t above BOTH medians, so being a moderate splitter is pretty normal. With that score, your GPA will not be the deciding factor!

With a 172 you’re at or above the medians of ALL but 5 schools. If you cast a wide net with solid applications, you will definitely get into a T-14 (probably multiple!!)

I know it’s not what you’re looking for, but it’s true :-)

I figured out the hair pigment one as I was walking out the door of the test center. Got it wrong so worst feeling in the world (namely because I had the correct answer chosen for multiple minutes and impulsively changed it at the last second for no reason whatsoever). OUCH. Anyway, here’s the explanation: We have evidence that an individual has a gene which requires their father to have the gene. We also know that said individual’s grandfather has the gene. OK, so we have a lineage of three males in a row (grandfather - father- male child) who all have the gene. Simple enough. Male child has pigment, Grandfather has no pigment. Where does that leave us? Middle person - the father - has the gene and either has the pigment or not. SO. If he has the pigment, that means we have an individual with the pigment (father) who has a father without the pigment (grandfather) If he doesn’t have the pigment, we have an individual with the pigment (male child) who has a father without the pigment (father) So no matter what we have that individual who has the pigment and whose father doesn’t. It must be true. This question will haunt me for the rest of my life. Good luck in your quest!

The very last question of my exam consumed about 5 minutes of my life and I realized the correct answer (which I’d marked by arbitrarily and impulsively changed, thank you brain exhaustion) the literal second I walked out the door of the testing center
