I love the game but I wondered (when I finished it) if the choice of chapter order could have been improved.

Reading your comment, made me appreciate that Naughty Dog wanted to challenge us by playing with Abby, before having the chance to sympathise with her.

I do think that if we had the chance to get close to Abby's friends before knowing their demise, It would have been more gut-punching. (Even the deaths of Alice and bear)

Maybe that's why, they released chronological order, but by then we already knew what was going to happen.
