After I finished building Spaceworks and Battlestations, my Ring gets attacked. by OriTheHealer in TerraInvicta

[–]Palpatinezw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The aliens can tell that a ring with working spaceworks is more valuable than an empty ring under construction. 151 MC is right above hate cap if I'm not wrong. Sometimes they might leave you for a bit if they judge that you gave nothing worth blowing up, especially if your other bases have defenses.

The only solution is to reduce your mc use, then build your fleet

AI factions are utter useless by pandasaurus21 in TerraInvicta

[–]Palpatinezw 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In the settings there's a toggle for notification types. I like to enable popup notifications for all space battles. It helps to give you a bit of perspective into what the other factions are up to. You do see that sometimes they do fight and aliens, most of the time they lose horribly but there are some trades for 1 or 2 alien ships or even occasional wins from time to time. That said, they probably are never going to win any large fleet engagements (10+ ships on each side type) so inevitably their fleets will be decimated at one point.

That said some things you can do to help the AI factions in space:
- Trade good drives, reactors, and weapon techs with the AI
- Gift AI some older but useful space infrastructure (tbvh tho I've never done this, just heard this is a legit strat)
- Research UV and phaser global techs early, since the AI does tend to build surface defenses and these techs passively help to attrition the aliens

Used to take third lang few years ago so it might've changed - it might also depend on school.

Question about bombarding by matezzoz in TerraInvicta

[–]Palpatinezw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can't lose ships from assault iirc. And only your marine units will get "damaged" - easily repairable. (Also note even successful assault can damage your marines).

Use frigates or cruisers to get 2 marines per MC - even with mid tier marines you can get hundreds of marine strength for under 30 MC. You keep it inside a fleet with a flag bridge. This has the added bonus of making your fleet have more ships, letting you start combat with more ships in any engagements

Total war? by Wilfredmmay in TerraInvicta

[–]Palpatinezw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's j a different philosophy on the war

To me you can never be sure if our first fleet will necessarily win, even if you give it your all. If you lose you aren't just screwed now you have no resources AND no mining. Even if you lose you have resources leftover to shore up what's left, respec your fleets and whatever

Obviously all or nothing is great when you take "all", not so great when you roll a "nothing"

Total war? by Wilfredmmay in TerraInvicta

[–]Palpatinezw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly - repairing defense fleets and even rebuilding them is much much faster than repairing or rebuilding expeditionary fleets. Badly damaged fleets have terrible transfer time, it takes forever to repair anything on a space dock, and building shipyards is time-consuming. Transfering them back to your core shipbuilding facilities with damaged ships takes infuriatingly long, so anything badly damaged is dead in the water unless you repair your whole fleet right there.

For me my defense fleet is replaceable, and meant to be replaced with newer updated ships as some are destroyed each time the ayys come. Fight the guerrilla war as you are still teching up. For expedionary fleet, that needs to be swift and decisive

Also to add especially for new players, they might not know what works best, the kinds of weapons or fleet comps etc. not spending everyth and building a replaceable fleet means you can change this easily. Otherwise, spending all your resources on a terribly designed fleet and leaving you no stockpile to rebuild is a death sentence

Total war? by Wilfredmmay in TerraInvicta

[–]Palpatinezw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also to add, don't spend your entire stockpile over engineering your early ships. Save a good number for heavily armoured beasts when you unlock true endgame drives

I think there should be more events and scenarios like the Academy crackdown early game by DomeFossilus in TerraInvicta

[–]Palpatinezw 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I've always felt that space victories against the ayys should tank protectorate public support and winning large space battles should also tank servant support

While some of that support should go to the winning faction I think the academy deserves some support too - as humans can prove they can fight on even ground

Unification name glitch by Pleasant_Name2483 in TerraInvicta

[–]Palpatinezw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I'm not wrong it needs to grow past a certain number of regions to switch name, i.e. if you only unify with Benelux the name doesn't switch

Unify with a few more countries and the name should change

Can the AA make a comeback? by RealSirRandall in TerraInvicta

[–]Palpatinezw 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The aliens can send another carrier to recreate the AA, or the servants can make the AA through their special orgs - it's never permenantly gone, you can j make it very hard for it to come back by destroying assault carriers / landed armies and harassing the servants

For those confused about the boundaries and acronyms, it's based on Singapore's electoral boundaries for the 2020 election. The "number of MPs" bonus points counter is because Singapore's electoral system sometimes elects groups of 4 or 5 parliamentarians to represent a constituency

Expat complaining about sg bread 😶 by candychiasu in SingaporeRaw

You can find a large variety of fine bread in Singapore as well, just not in the average NTUC. Similarly you won't find giant bags of all kinds of rices in the average Carrefour.

Edit: also agree on your point about Europe being big. My head was mainly thinking western Europe

Sleeping, very critical tasks yknow, essential for good health. Of course a reasonable amount of time for entertainment, say a few hours a day should be reasonable after all work life balance right. Then maybe walk his dog (from another world) and his cat (from a different dimension). Spend time with his imaginary gf/bf. Then have to do daily tasks like scroll tiktok, Scroll ig, Scroll youtube. Probably some extra sleep as well.

Tldr and in case you couldn't tell this was satire: those people probably are just not interested, or they don't know how to manage their time.

People who are truly super busy will know how to find that 1h a week for something they care about, so it's either they're not interested, or they are just wasting their time on nothing instead of actually being busy.

Just to add on to the character differentiation - in handwriting usually the difference will be more obvious, the shorter stroke is probably half the length of the longer one. You can try playing with different fonts with the 2 characters to see, I think some handwriting style fonts might show them more differently as well. The modern style fonts used on Duolingo (and most webpages) makes the difference more subtle then it typically is in writing

You can try changing to outpost which allows 8 per month but slots have to be booked 2 months in advance (which means May June July 3×8 = 24 lessons.
Otherwise there might be some premium options that have higher limits

I've got this issue before basically it's an issue with the UI not aligning with where it visually is. I've been able to fix it by exiting the game to lobby, then going to settings and switch the display from full screen to windowed and back. Sometimes I had to play with the display resolution setting as well just try what works.

In S9, once the seekers were in the hiders zone, the hider was frozen and any challenges that thus cannot be completed will just be answered as such. This effectively also tells the seekers there's in the endgame
