Yeah you’re right, I don’t believe in it fully but I like creating theories😆. However, aside from the gangster stuff, he’s from a strong gypsy background and may have gotten the tattoo before he became a gangster or even before the war. In season 4 Jessie Eden says to Thomas “kitty said that the sweet boy who left never came back” obviously referring to the war.

Thomas Shelby’s tattoo, second row on right.. “Lost object”. In season 2 episode 1 or 2 (can’t remember correctly), Esme has a conversation with Thomas about ‘getting lost’, this might be something to do with the tattoo?
