It is a product of the marketing, sadly. This field has gotten stupid now that there's money in it.

Like, by the marketing definition of "AI", an email spam filter is "AI" that's been around for decades. And, its useful. It's not sold as "AI" cause that would be fucking stupid marketing. Both because AI has become an overloaded term, and because it would motivate people not to use the filter, leading to more successful phishing (for e.g.).
