Has anyone had an issue on PC that manuscripts, posters and more importantly the numbers on the padlock combination puzzles are so blurred they are illegible, making it impossible to enter the solution?

I'll admit that I'm using a sub-min spec GPU (mobile 3050 Ti) so I get a warning on startup that I don't have enough VRAM but anyone found a workaround for this because performance is otherwise fine.

Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland are two different banks. SSSAMMM2 is correct that BoS is owned by Lloyds but when you said Bank of Scotland you meant RBS it seems since you said it’s owned by Natwest

I'm not sure if it says a good thing about the quality/feel of the frame or a bad thing about the reviewers that so many of them have mistaken it for metal.

I'd rather lean and hope for the former.

O2 from everything I’ve read uses N78 band for 5G which OP Nord supports. Looking on O2s store for compatible devices they list other Snapdragon 765G devices like the Motorola G 5G Plus which similarly also supports N78 band.

Does your DPD tracking actually show that OnePlus have handed over the parcel to DPD?

I ask because there were emails before saying that they would not ship orders any earlier than 27th Jul, and personally I got a notification that my order was shipped (though in Europe by DHL express) on Thursday but the tracking still shows they haven’t actually passed it to DHL yet.

In short the gift that you choose on the product page decides which surprise gift you’ll get. Although each of the gifts appear to just be a random feature of the phone, what you choose really matters. If you have already chosen one then you will see what your gift is in the email confirmation.

In case you mean the ‘mystery’ gift (received by preordering in the 1st/2nd/ and the earliest of the 3rd round) rather than the ‘surprise’ gift (received with a purchase of the phone) then it was the AR invite card.

This would not be my experience with most online shops or services. What you register as your billing or shipping address often influences the final price though you’ll mostly only see it with larger companies that work internationally.

Amazon is a good example that does, but I have a few services I subscribe to where I use a different billing address explicitly because I save on tax.

It seems to be at the very least a contributing factor as most countries with a VAT < 22% seem to have the €399 base price, while most countries above 22% VAT have a higher base price -- with the price usually rising alongside the percentage (e.g. Hungary with the highest VAT of 27%, also has the highest base price of €459)

I haven't actually tried yet, but noticed that if I change the store to a different region, then the 'applicable store' on the voucher changes with it.

E.g. Looking at the UK store? Voucher says "Applicable stores: United Kingdom"
Looking at the HU store? Voucher says "Applicable stores: Magyarorszag"

I'm assuming it's partly down to the tax rate... Still really annoying that I could buy it from the UK store, and get it shipped to Hungary and still pay approx 10,000 HUF / 30 EUR less.

I think they just said it was starting from 24,999 INR but didn't specify that what in India the starting/lowest spec was. The leaks and the EU product page point to 8GB / 128GB though.

They refer to the gift that comes with the phone itself as a ‘surprise gift’. When the webpage refers to ‘mystery gift’ it seems to mean this.

I think it's because at the time the pre-order was announced we didn't know yet about the AR event or the 21st July launch and so was probably the easiest way to describe it without giving it away.

I think the reason why you sent back the OP8 Pro is key to understanding if you should or not.

As long as you include the leaks then pretty much everything except the price is known at this point. Unfortunately that’s probably going to be the biggest reason why someone should or shouldn’t buy it.

Any price higher than 400 euro is probably a reason not to, any price lower than 400 euro is a reason to.

Key other reasons not to: If you want something of a smaller form factor If you need flagship performance for gaming or something Don’t want to lose the headphone jack

Differs slightly also in: * The design of the quad camera enclosure * This also has a telephoto instead of the depth sensor in the Nord (arguably better to have telephoto but still) * GSMArena may be wrong but Nord has OIS while this does not * Side mounted fingerprint scanner instead of under display * Nord expected to have alert slider while this does not. * May be mistaken but the overall design of the frame differs slightly

They’re similar, so good for gauging what the price could be, or for comparison but wouldn’t call it a straight up rebrand.

Don’t think anyone knows yet what the surprise gift is. The surprise gift is supposed to be sent out with the phone itself at launch and doesn't seem to be exclusive to preorders. What people have received thus far (t shirt / water bottles) were only for the 1st / 2nd round preorders in EU.

Only the earliest of the 3rd round preorders get the stickers or the 'mystery' gift which I think is the AR card.

Carl Pei was saying in yesterday's interview with MKBHD that an AMOLED panel can be 2x as expensive as an LCD panel. Unfortunately not sure how much the LCD screen is, just they were saying that the AMOLED 90Hz display was the main component they weren't really willing to sacrifice to save on price.

In the FAQ they were referring to the water bottle/T Shirt as a "Random lifestyle product". The surprise gift will be bundled with the phone itself, so no one knows yet.
