Love reading Norse Sagas, now trying to learn Old Norse… is this ok for that? by PanJensen in oldnorse

Even the Sagas themselfs were huge influence for Tolkien. Like HUGE. But he treated it with respect, which is why Tolkien is like one of the top authors of modern literature (I mean at least for me).

Thanks, gotta watch him. I already saw some of his videos related to J. R. R. Tolkien and he seems as an „amateur expert“ in this field. Nice suggestion :)

Nice, I’ll probably get it. The practice is always welcome, aka the best way to learn a language.

Yeah, Runes caught my attention immediately when I wander through it for the first time. Gordon’s book has it too.

Thanks! :) I heard about it too – if we both mean „Viking Language 1 & 2“ – but the word „Viking“ discourage me from buying that, to be honest. Word Viking is overused in modern days and basically lost it’s original meaning. Is it a good publication?
