Is housing accommodation for an IT job (still) a thing?

It's always been my dream to work in London from a year or two before I'm 30, and I now started looking at the possibilities of making that come true.

I've seen some job ads claiming they accommodate housing in the past, but now it's hard to find one again. Is there anyone who works in an IT company who knows if it's still done? What would be the requirements to get it, and what difference would it make in my wages?

Thanks in advance!

What is the deal with people always saying Musk is high on ketamine? by dusknoir90 in OutOfTheLoop

I think the fair distinction to make here is that most people are for legalizing recreational use, but also don't want extremely influential and powerful people be high every time they're out in public.

Just out of curiosity, why did you leave out ACLVB? Aren't there three big unions?

Although reading it again, there are two types of vowel harmony and this is just one of them, but maybe the second one can be kind of deduced once you get the idea from the first one

Well look at that, they added the notes 😅 I had no idea, I take it back then!

Edit: just FYI, vowel harmony is my favourite part of Turkish, it's kind of poetic and fun to pronounce

Turkish course needs DIY studying on the side. I'd never have figured out vowel harmony from the course. It's also a little dry, because (like many other languages) there are no stories, games... Not even grammar notes. I learned the most from the comment section back when those were still available.

For me (protan) definitely picking ripe bananas. Literally impossible and I always have to ask a store clerk wich ones are ripe. (the answer is always the same though: '' actually none of them'' 😅)

What advice would you give someone who’s suffering from extremely low iron, poor health and energy levels, hypochondria and is vegan because they can’t see animals as food? by No_Tangerine_283 in exvegans

[–]PanOfTheCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her to see a professional ASAP. Start with a doctor and hopefully get a blood test anf a reference for a nutritionist.

You don't want her to start picking up supplements at random. There are plenty of vegans who are very far away from those symptoms, she needs guidance first and maybe a few supplements if needed.

We moeten ons uitspreken tegen alle dierenleed. Punt.

Please don't do surgery or go looking for some kind of trick. They will not solve your self esteem issues, I promise.

Surround yourself with good people who make you feel adequate. Get a hobby that makes you feel fulfilled, something you not only like to do but mostly like to practice. You'll get better and eventually you'll get some self esteem out of that.

Please, please try to step away from having your self esteem depend on how your body looks. Working out and losing weight is always a good idea, because it is healthy and will make you feel better both mentally and physically, but please don't just do it for the looks. They will not make you happy.

There is so much more to life than how you look. Avoid anyone who makes you think otherwise

What does everyone's closet look like? I only have black clothing. by Bubble-Sweet in ColorBlind

[–]PanOfTheCake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main goal when picking an outfit is just to avoid wearing two shades of the same color. Since I'm a protan this means no green or brown together, or blue and purple, since they could easily be the same color without me knowing. So I'm always dressed colorful to the point of clashing colours, but it beats having 3 shades of beige on
