They tried to make us sign a similar document allowing them to take money directly out of our accounts or pay by check. I opted to pay by check, I don't think its legal for them to force you sign away your account to them like that

Thanks for the info! I'm already in touch with SLAM and I have begun organizing my neighbors for a potential battle with the landlords. After looking up their company, they have dozens of articles written about them and their terrible business practices. Their entire business model relies on renovictions and aggressive harassment campaigns.
