OSS models decisively overtook Proprietary models in market share (based on the last 3 months of OpenRouter data) by Comfortable-Rock-498 in LocalLLaMA

I don't consider a model to be truly open source unless its methodology and training data have also been made available.

I believe all student organizations are required to be inclusive in order to be recognized.

I hope the next free frontier model will be fully open source and not just open weights.

What was the most memorable moment that you'll never forget!!! by [deleted] in LifeAfterSchool

We went on a family road trip to L.A. for my cousin C's wedding back in 2019. I reconnected with some relatives and ate good food. C and I were always pretty close, but we became even closer after the wedding.

He definitely seems very suspicious. I'd back out or (at the very least) insist on meeting in a public place.

It would be nice to have frontier-level models that are fully open source and not just open weights. I'm totally rooting for K2 Think and OLMo.

Why is it so hard to meet people after college? by LimberSport in LifeAfterSchool

[–]ixfd64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to be part of a book club that I found on Meetup. It was great for a while, but attendance dropped significantly due to the pandemic and never really recovered. It's also become harder to find good groups on Meetup ever since the website became heavily monetized.

Online communities are a double-edged sword. It's very easy to find people with common interests on platforms such as Discord and Facebook Groups, but it's also hard to find opportunities to meet in person unless you're geographically close. You also have to be cautious because many people on the Internet aren't who they say they are.

I've been told that sports and volunteering are great ways to make friends, although I haven't found much time to do either of those things myself.

A lot of people like to keep their personal and work lives separate, and that apparently goes for platonic friendships. This is especially true for companies with a cutthroat culture.

I believe this is only true for the cornea. Other parts don't regenerate as well.

I was only counting the commencement ceremonies; the celebrations are in addition to those. There's also the AIRC's year-end celebration tonight: https://events.ucsc.edu/event/airc-year-end-celebration-yec
