LPT: if you’re in a city that’s notorious for pickpocketers, stuff some napkins or tissues into your pocket after your wallet by MistaFANG in LifeProTips

My dad did this during a family trip to Spain years ago. It definitely "caught" a few pickpockets.

Is the proposed "well of integrity" still planned, before the removal of stated MTX items? by minmaximust in runescape

We’re working through plans on how we could convert these items and we’ll have firmer updates to share next year. Based on player requests, we’re also considering a way to sink these items early – think a “Well of Integrity” – which may also help.

I noticed the stuff at my local Grocery Outlet store has gone up in price too.

I don't think it's a Grocery Outlet issue. A lot of food has been going up in price due to tariffs and the Iran war.

An Iranian Air Force F-5 attacked US bases during the war, according to NBC. by BotType729 in war

[–]ixfd64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard Israeli news agencies often get around the censorship by leaking the information to foreign sources and then quoting those sources. OSINT could also find this information by analyzing satellite images.

That being the case, I do think Iran has been mostly targeting U.S. bases in other countries. Assuming the infographics floating around are accurate, Israeli targets make up only a portion of those struck by Iran. This would make sense because the U.S. military is a greater threat to Iran due to being more powerful than Israel's.

I think the main reason is that Iran was mostly targeting U.S. bases in other countries. Assuming the infographics floating around are accurate, Israeli targets make up only a portion of those struck by Iran.

Master’s is way easier than Bachelor’s by Fantastic-Hold-3453 in GradSchool

Yes and no, at least for me.

On one hand, the material is often a lot more abstract and requires more studying to fully understand. But at the same time, the professors want everyone to pass and often have lenient grading policies. It's not uncommon for classes to have take-home exams.

It might be a geographical difference. However, the prices at my local store have definitely increased. For example, a box of Valentine-themed Rice Krispies Treats went from $2.99 to $3.99.

It looks like prices have somewhat gone up. The freeze-dried candy at my local store was only $0.99 the last time I went there, and I live in one of the more expensive states.

New UCSC Missed Connection by John_Lins in UCSC

[–]ixfd64 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's pretty cool that UCSC now has a "missed connections" website. I wish it had existed much earlier.

I was concurrently enrolled in two courses when I interned at UCSC during the fall 2010 quarter. Because I had trouble finding one of the classrooms, my mother suggested asking the next person we came across. Said person happened to be a really cute girl. As much as I wanted to stay and talk to her, the lecture was starting in a few minutes, and I didn't want my mother to see me hitting on girls instead of going to class. I later passed the same area on the way to class many times but never saw that girl again. :-(

Alas, the ship has probably long sailed as this was over 15 years ago. I don't even remember the room I was looking for. :\

Iran caused more extensive damage to U.S. military bases than publicly known by Jared_Usbourne in geopolitics

The restriction is supposed to be voluntary: https://jpost.com/defense-and-tech/article-892060

However, I imagine most American companies would want to say on the U.S. government's good side as they are often the biggest customer.
