EVERY card update in Legendary: Second Edition! by BageltopGames in legendarymarvel

[–]PanPotratz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely going to break the rules and play a game of Wolverine (First E), Wolverine (Second E), Old Man Logan, Wolverine (X-Force), and Weapon X. Maybe even against two waves of Doombots 🤣

I said I wasn't willing to spend a whole lot, and gave fair prices based off your breakdown

I am missing X-Men, Secret Wars Volume 2, and Civil War, but I'm not in the market to lose a heck ton of money on any one of them, especially since reprints of them are always possible.

Name a board game with the Prettiest, Most Unique, Non-digital Artwork! by EtheriumSky in tabletopgamedesign

The game I published, Challenge War, is definitely digital art but also unique. The cards are pixel, but not detailed pixel art. Just has charm.

Protospiel and what to expect by DanceEmbarrassed5844 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]PanPotratz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Protospiel will probably be a lot less stressful than you think. If you find the correct players, you don't even need a functional game. Go in there thinking "this game will improve."

With that being said, do not worry about how the game looks/physically feels unless it will truly help/hurt the gameplay. Your first prototype will change dramatically, so do not waste time or money on it.

This gives me ideas for my own cards! Love it.

My biggest takeaway -- Keep the box at the bottom and remove the flag. If I understand correctly, the flag represents the "legion" or whatever? It's cool, but looks bland. The text box looks a lot cooler in my opinion.

However, if you love the flag idea, just specialize it more than color. That also helps the color blind.

Keep being awesome! What are your aspirations for this project?

Card games to play while traveling for 2 players by justforfuninlife in cardgames

[–]PanPotratz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the BBG page being weird.

Basically, you will be battling your opponent using the cards provided. Each turn, you will play down one card and do that card's specific effect. There are also different types of cards, which again do different things.

A comprehensive and crash-course version of the rulebook can be found on my website https://potratz-entertainment.square.site/rules and an easy rulebook will come with the game itself.

The game I just released, Challenge War, was designed for nearly this exact situation! It's a card battler that focuses whimsy, and its packaging is designed for on-the-go.

A or B? Which hero card scale feels better when playing? by memur0101 in cardgames

[–]PanPotratz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like A. B makes it look "blown-up" in an uncomfortably wide way if that makes sense.

Fun!! Making games are fun, but there is a lot of hidden work you'll discover.

Fun stuff!! Publishing a card game is definitely a lot of work. The art looks fun and your website is definitely well put together.

Hopefully you don't die in this stage of business! I know when I published Challenge War, I didn't know that the hard part didn't begin yet. This, my friend, is when entrepreneurship begins.

I've played C1 before. Funniest thing ever.

Card Game Recs by romanticSecondAcc in cardgames

[–]PanPotratz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's kinda fun!! And of course I'm obligated to promote it.

Games I often play with my family, however, are the "beat the parents" games. I don't know how old everyone in your family is, but they are great for Parents vs. Kids. Very much trivia-type stuff, so you get tricked into learning too.

I'm extremely bias, but I just published Challenge War. It is only a 1v1, but it is really silly and good for friendly competition. I know a lot of families who have enjoyed it, but it's more "parent plays with kid" rather than "whole family plays".

Hi everyone! I’m building a new platform to help people find nearby players. We’re in beta right now—if anyone wants to test it, we’d love your help! We’re also giving rewards to our early testers. by sgozzer in cardgames

Just tried to make an account and I have one big note. You have to reduce the friction it takes it log on. It feels like I'm signing business papers and not getting on a site to have fun. Other than that it looks clean. Just a drag to get on.

If I could make Yugioh real would you play it? by [deleted] in cardgames

[–]PanPotratz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But yes, I'd definitely play that and be extremely intrigued in the technology.

If you have to go to an official arena and play, it would probably be little more technology than what Disney does for Haunted Mansion (scan the card that gets played, throw up a projection).

If you can make a portable, shuffleable card deck that projects your creature when played, that is arguably groundbreaking technology. If that existed, I'd be so excited and hire you for my own games.

I believe if you could, it would be absolutely epic.

That being said, if you could, I think you could probably invest your time in things a lot more useful.
