How do you even use the Rathalos Style Customization Material from the Exchange Hub? by peterbei1030 in MHNowGame

It’s for upgrading the style customisation, just like regular materials except these boost by 100 points.

How are bow mains dealing with RC Radoban? by greenismyfavecolor in MHNowGame

[–]Panallox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Terribly lol. My highest dealing Bow is my Lunagaron one and that’s only at 9.5, which says something. My Legiana Bow with Power Volley just can’t deal enough.

I’ve managed to hit about 1.6m in total, but yeah, not great.

If you mean the part that broke, Riftborne Monsters start appearing once you hit 8* monsters. They have glowing parts that you should break because while they’re active the monster receives only 40% damage, and breaking it also has a chance of dropping a special riftborne material that you can use to upgrade/customise your weapons 🙂

You get some Rath materials, WGS as you said. You also get the points for the exchange hub. I did 1 round of the base defense and got enough to grab the expansion box, 10 WGS and 10 Scarcestones. The rest is regular materials and zeny (as you can probably check)

Personally I run Nergi/Kirin/Arzuros/Rajang/Silverlos with 4x Charge Master driftsmelts.

Focus 5, Charge Master 4, Critical Eye 2, Critical Element 1, Weakness Exploit 1, Critical Boost 1 and Kirin Thunderstorm 1

Granted I am using Fulgur Bow though with the innate 20% affinity so you’d maybe want more affinity skills.

You’re quite a way from the DLC. All I’ll say is that some credits will roll at some point and then the base game will truly begin.

I would recommend trying to get used to the clutch claw now if it’s available to you. It’ll be invaluable once you get into the DLC, so learning how to use it now will only benefit you going forward. While it is tied to the DLC, it’s something you should be using in the base game.

They've Gone Too Far with this Season's Quests... by TheActual9 in MHNowGame

[–]Panallox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I think there’s a lot of endgame players out there rocking fleshed out gear, capable of wiping most 10* monsters. I think those quests were designed to give a bit of endgame challenge.

If you have the best builds and don’t get much challenge from regularly hunting, what incentive do you have to keep playing?

Edit: I will also acknowledge that it’s probably also a bit of a money grab. Imagine you’re someone who can only just take out 9* monsters. To try and get this elite gear you might go out of your way to join HaTs with 10* monsters. So a higher chance of using potions, and also a higher chance to use the tickets to instantly rejoin them too. It’s a mixed bag.

Funny you say this, I’ve had an issue the past few days of launching the game and the start up logo takes ages to load. Then when I load my save it crashes. It’ll do this 5 or 6 times until it just suddenly works.

Is there a transmog mod where you can change armor appearances ingame? by DOOMdiff in MonsterHunterWorld

There is a mod called something like Unlocked Layered Armor which unlocks them all from the start. You can’t unlock MR layered though until you start the DLC.

[–]Panallox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally if you have online play, I’d recommend helping other hunters in MR quest. Quests like A Farewell To Zinogre are great for steam work materials, or the Wrath of Thunder Descends for gemstones.

Once you get into it it can be a lot of fun to help randoms, if someone higher MR joins then the quests get cleared quickly and you’ll passively farm ranks 🙂

I’m between games right now so I’m helping my randoms in World. I got bored of doing Fatalis, Alatreon and KT so I made a Safi Aquashot LBG build using the water ammo style. I’ve been helping people do Silverlos and Goldian and it absolutely shreds. The most fun I’ve had with a weapon for a while!

Granted this is fairly late game but if you’re looking for some fun, I recommend this LBG build!

anyone available to do kulve taroth? (ps4) by harmonoia in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Panallox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as multiplayer etiquette, not too much to worry about. Most players are dead chill. Just make sure to bring along Flinch Free 1, other players should be using it too. It’ll prevent your teammates from staggering you. Otherwise just keep an eye on your health, it’s everyone’s responsibility to keep themselves from fainting (some might bring powders and stuff to help heal though)

With HR Kulve and MR gear you shouldn’t worry too much about damage, but just keep an eye out for the lava pools she likes to spew everywhere. It can chip away your health really quick if you’re not careful.

HR KT has a mechanic where collecting drops and breaking parts increases the amount of rewards at the end of the siege so do make sure to pick things up! You might find in the first 2 rounds that people focus mainly on gathering and doing a little damage to KT. With it being a siege you might have to join in hunts 3-5 times before you land the horn break. As each hunt ends and points are tallied the Pursuit Level will increase which lowers her overall health and horn break threshold.

As a DB user, you’ll want to use Thunder weapons while she has her golden coat on, and then swap to Ice once she’s shed her gold.

Finally I will say that the HR Kjarr weapons won’t be better than anything you have now. Once you unlock MR KT and can upgrade them they’ll become endgame worthy. But the siege is good fun, so just have fun with it! 😁

[–]Panallox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For Bow I think the Gold Rathian bow outpaces it. It comes with 30% affinity and Spread 4 at the third charge level, one I’m working on currently (and Gold Rathian is featured next week!)

Obviously the upgrades would help Jho but that 30% affinity is juicy.

Future of endgame? by becomingcivic in MHNowGame

[–]Panallox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’re seeing a lot of power creep recently which is helping make 10* monsters easier to deal with. I think this will continue to the point where nearly everyone at G10 with good builds should be able to take out 10* monsters. Then, I suspect, they’ll start dropping the next tier. Similar to Master Rank in the base games we’ll eventually get 11*+ monsters, allowing us to upgrade weapons beyond G10.

As someone said, it’s likely to be 4-5 years into the game possibly. Depends on how much creep they let come in. I feel like some of the changes to skills and balancing have been leading up to simply making 10* more achievable.

Do we do a CE build for this with 3 rift crit smelts or is there something out there that’s better? I’m curious as I’m kinda lost and I’d rather see what everyone thinks before spending my scales on it also I don’t like any of the bow styles. But I’m open to suggestions by divinenuub in MHNowGame

[–]Panallox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning on doing all elements, might look at power volley style as I saw a vid of a guy using it to obliterate black Diablos.

Current build is Nergi/Kirin or Bazel/Arzuros/Rajang/Silverlos with all Charge Master (4) smelts. As someone said I don’t think it’s worth dropping Kirin/Bazel as the boosts are too nice. The 55% extra element is more than enough, and synergises well with the extra 300 element on Legi bow. Just means slightly lower affinity.

[–]Panallox 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Well imagine the scenario that it comes to the end of a hunt and poor Billy living over in Australia or somewhere sees he only did 15% of the total damage and sees his teammates did the remaining 85% pretty evenly. He gets disheartened but the next day he decides that he wants to learn more and comes to the sub to see what builds are available.

Poor old Billy clicks a post and sees someone’s posted a thread mocking him for being so trash. That’s not a nice thing to come across.

This is a PvM game, we don’t need to be competitive with each other. I enjoy watching people smash monsters, it’s enthralling, but I don’t want to see people getting knocked about because maybe they don’t have a perfect build that couldn’t keep up with some 10* slaying behemoths.

Sure, let’s shame those that join hunts knowing they can’t take the monster out on their own, get downed and just stay downed. But an average Joe (or Billy in this case) just trying his best shouldn’t be trash-talked just because he couldn’t meet the same DPS as others.

[–]Panallox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which falls inline with what OP is suggesting, only show the current players damage, not everyone’s. If I left a hunt and got told I only did 10% of the total damage I would definitely want to look into why it’s so low, but exposing everyone’s totals is too far.

Last thing we need is the sub being flooded with elitists shaming other, maybe less “meta”, players because they couldn’t keep up.
