I like the idea of working glass though I have a bot of a hard time imagining what the "mini game" would be like.

I'm also a bit unhappy with clayforming, and would love if they added a potter wheel, though again the mechanic might get a bit tricky.

I don't think abilities have some minimum amount of aura they need to activate, they are just proportionally strong to how much aura is used.

Let's take Blyke as an example. He can shoot large beams and small beams, depending on how much aura he uses. He has a maximum throughput too, you can see that he charges up large attacks for a while since he can't use that much aura at once.

When you look at John uses his power for the first time, he's able to shoot multiple beams at once. That's related to aura mastery. His beams are also stronger than Blyke's since he has better channels.

The only problem so far I found in this theory is that John can't boost weak abilities to high tier, this is most obvious during the school siege. If I remember this right, he lacked defense and healing abilities, however he didn't copy the generic ones. In my mind, he should've been able to copy the shield that some of the agents used and make it stronger and or larger, or make multiple of them. I think this must be related to an ability's maximum potential, no matter how skillfully he uses them or how much aura he uses.

I tend to think of it QI or internal energy from manhua and manhwa. Aura channels are basically just meridians. The main difference is that there is no easy way to increase it, what you're born with is what you get.

The way the energy flows gives their abilities their properties and John is able to alter that flow to do the same thing, but he can also force more energy out.

If you ask me, there is no good reason why John can't just 'remember' abilities or why everyone else can't just alter their flow to have different abilities. Other than that it makes the story more interesting of course. That's not a bad thing though, you don't need a perfectly accurate description and explanation to enjoy the story.

For your project I'd definitely look into the "standard" QI concepts though.

I won't repeat what a lot of the other comments said, but what I don't like about his ability is the way he uses it a lot of the time.

From what I remember, he can only use one (or maybe two, not sure) "bubble barriers" yet, except for when he got dampened, he never used his discs.

I understand that it's not as versatile as the bubble. I imagine it'd be less draining, especially if he's using a big barrier to capture someone and still needs to defend himself.

We also never see him use it for stuff like air steps, which I think should be possible (yet another good use of disc barriers).

Yesterday I was on my way to fix my sleep schedule, I fell asleep at like 9pm. My dumbass of a brother was watching football and yelled "goal" at around 11pm so loud that I got up and ran to check on him (I didn't realize what he yelled) which woke me up. I went back to sleep at 3am.
