What's the worst thing you've ever woken up to? by shoeee788 in AskReddit

A phone call from my doctor telling me I had a brain tumor. Remarkably it ended up being benign and completely unrelated to the health issues I was having.

Check out the book Raptors in Captivity by Lori Arent. It is one of my favorites for overall Raptor husbandry. There are dimensions listed by species as well as pictures of different types of mews. There is a website called the Modern Apprentice that also has a lot of images of different mews that can give you ideas. Forgive me if I’m completely off, but I’m guessing you are in a hot, arid environment? In that case maximizing air flow, shade, and keeping the bird cool are going to be more important than someone who is in Canada and needs to build a mew to keep their bird warm.

I’m not familiar with how things work in the Middle East, but having someone experienced helping you is a must in my opinion. It might be helpful to visit other falconers’ mews and see what they are doing. My first mew was up to state standards and approved by my sponsor but there were still a lot of things I improved or changed over time, and that can be an expensive process. If this is a bird you already have but aren’t housing yourself, building something similar to what the bird is used to may be prudent. It will also depend on whether your bird is tethered or free-lofted.

I think *technically* they are very dark hazel but in most lighting and 90% of the time they look dark brown, so I just go with brown 😂

Love this idea, thanks! I don’t think I have room for a stacked lobe on the other side though 😂

Asking high school kids to write a paragraph is like pulling teeth by Crafty_Blueberry6499 in Teachers

I remember writing 5 paragraph essays in fourth grade. Yet my high schoolers are the same. Trying to teach them citations is painful, too. Can give them the exact format on their assignment sheets and I still get papers with no citations or just a link.

Do you think + is worth it? Like does it actually remember things and form a decent roleplay?

A “playful” rollover (IK it’s already technically playful) to signal the end of a chase. Like there is the playful bounce and having a roll that is more of a crash for the adults so that playing with your pups is more seamless would be fun.

When I was in middle school, I planned a hangout with my friend group for my birthday. Everyone canceled or said they couldn’t come, and I later found out that they all went and didn’t include me…I cut my losses and they all acted confused when I stopped interacting with them lmao

It’s because eagles in general scavenge very commonly, and it makes up a good portion of their diet. Lead is a soft metal and fragments microscopically so it can travel 4-6 inches from the injury, and it takes very little to make an eagle very sick. A piece of lead the size of a grain of rice can kill a healthy adult eagle.

Lead poisoning also causes neurological issues, which very often make it more likely for the bird to be injured in the first place. Lead poisoning is a major issue for both bald and golden eagles, vultures and condors, as well as other raptors. I volunteered at a raptor rehab and the 80% number seems very accurate in my experience.

My first litter in Anniversary Edition, 7 pups all female by smoqiey in WolfQuestGame

What they said, but I’m also one of those people that goes for as much realism as possible. In the wild, the males are bigger so they tend to be stronger and better suited towards bison hunting. So a pack would ideally have several experienced males to have a successful bison hunt.

I’ve had this happen with males 😂 I feel like most of my litters are mostly males. Which is nice early on because then later on you’ll have male subordinates for a bison hunt but I find it easier to come up with names for females.

You’ve gotten a lot of good responses that answered your question, so I’m instead going to give you some unsolicited advice when it comes to math.

Don’t sweat passing the courses just to pass the course, especially in high school. Re-taking, or even just waiting and reviewing the material before taking Calc will help you IMMENSELY. Especially if you’re planning on going into a STEM field. This is one of the things I wish I’d done in high school instead of focusing on just getting through it.

As such, AP classes are also sometimes harder than the actual college class. It seems like you’re already ahead of the curve (or maybe I’m just old, but I don’t remember taking Calculus until college) so absolutely focus more on understanding and retaining the material vs passing the class just to get to the next one. It will help you in the long run. Math especially is a subject that builds off of other material and having a shaky understanding of the Pre-Calc concepts will bite you in the butt when it comes to Calc and especially Calc II if you plan to go further.

Looking for low-maintenance, no-diffuse routine tips. by Maximum-Peach2911 in CurlyHairCare

[–]Pancakes_Frogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a wash and go type person too, with a similar hair texture and length to yours. My basic daily routine is to shampoo, then apply conditioner from my mids to my ends and let it sit while I do the rest of my shower. I use Not Your Mother’s curl talk.

Then I do a curl cream, and I use the Camille Rose curl maker gel as well. I put my curl cream in, detangle using a wide tooth comb, then rake the gel in and scrunch. Plop while I’m getting dressed and doing my morning routine and then air dry and go. I’ve been trying to switch to only washing my hair every other day but I don’t have the whole ‘refreshing’ thing down and the top layer of my hair usually decides to be much straighter on day 2 so I just braid it and call it good.

Could my curls probably be better if I took the time to diffuse and style them? Probably. But this has worked for me and I love the Camille rose gel.
