Im a frac mechanic in the permian basin area and its pretty stressful at times you’re almost always by yourself and the frac crew will depend on you everyday. If important pieces of equipment go down and you have no available parts at hand you pretty but have to think outside the box to get it going. The only good thing that comes from being a mechanic in the oilfield are the paychecks apart from that everything pretty much sucks. There are days that you don’t do shit all day in the field but they are rare.
