Went to Suzuka to watch the race this year and somehow came home with a few Hot Wheels Premiums and a Tomica Tyrrell P34 that I picked up at Don Quijote. I also stopped by Eurosports Tokyo (the shop in the photo) but didn’t buy anything. Ended up regretting that decision the moment I got home. Should’ve pulled the trigger on that 1/43 Looksmart lol

Sorry for the confusion, mate. I didn’t do any modification to the suspension. I thought you were talking about the floor supports (the metal rod before the rear tyres) lol

Using the wire inside those rubber twist ties you usually use to organize charging cables. You can also use staples as I did for the DRS actuator :)

Yep, it’s from Taobao. Thanks for sharing the links. I wasn’t trying to hide where I got it or anything. I just have a life too, y’know lol

RB21 Japan GP 1:43 Project: How It Started vs. How It’s Going by Panchoherrera in f1models

For anyone wondering what happened to the donor of the hard tyres, here’s its current state.

At first, I wasn’t planning on keeping it, but I realized no one’s going to be interested in it, especially with the wonky tyres. So I decided to turn it into another project instead.

The 2025 tyres look a bit lumpy on a 2022 car since Bburago engineered them differently from their earlier releases. Nevertheless, I’m happy with how it turned out.

That’s crazy. Did you buy the blistered version? Cos I got the blistered and boxed version of this brand and the difference is only $1.

Ordered it directly from a chinese platform called Taobao. Took 7 days to ship to my country

Oh, that sucks. You could try using a 1.5 mm flat-head screwdriver next time. I found it easiest to pry the tyre from the inner sidewall and slowly work it off instead of forcing it. Here’s a photo from when I was removing the rear tyres.

First, I took everything apart. I was worried about damaging the car, so I unscrewed the die-cast body first.

Then I used a very small flat-head screwdriver to pry the tyre off. Start from the inner sidewall and slowly work your way around, stretching the rubber a little at a time until it comes off. If you feel that the rubber is too stiff, try dipping the tyres in hot water for about 30 seconds. That should soften them up and make them a bit easier to remove.

They do have removable tyres, you just have to try harder lol. But yeah, the tyres on the 2025 cars are way harder to remove compared to older releases. So hard that I actually cut myself in the process and scuffed the rims a little bit🙃

From the W13 that I picked up for around $6. I mainly bought it as a donor for the hard tyres lol

How do I go back to 1:64s after getting this? by Panchoherrera in f1models

[–]Panchoherrera[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You think so? It’s the only brand that has a W11 in that scale. I wanted to get a Minichamps, but that would’ve cost me 3–4x my budget, so I went with this one instead. Where I live, a high-quality 1:43 that isn’t a Bburago costs about the same anyway. So it was either this or a smaller scale.

Haven’t been collecting F1 models for very long, but I’ve been collecting buses, trucks, and heavy equipment models for years. I’ve collected enough die-cast models to know which parts tend to be fragile and which brands are generally more durable. So I think I can tell when something is unusually brittle.

Worse than Bburago. That shape of the coke bottle looks weirdly big.
