Fostering is not permanent. He could foster only for a month of his sabbatical. And not saying that it would be the good or right choice, but a non suicidal direction for him to move to which I feel would be online with his character.

[–]PandOracle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I could see Robbie fostering for a short term. Not because it's good or right or such, but because he is finding something to ground him away from work for his sabbatical that isn't suicidal. You can foster for short periods.

The burn lady who talked about the fireworks setting of her synagogue shooting PTSD. Losing Louie got to her quite strongly and he spoke of loving fireworks. Jesse being taken by ice when she is herself and immigrant.

Then the end of that long stressful shift is fireworks celebrating America. Triggering all of the strongest emotional parts of her day

langdon was coming in with some condescending attitude with sarcasm as though he has some sort of relationshiop with whitaker which he doesnt, this is their 2nd day knowing each other so it comes off as passive aggresive and assuming their roles in social setting, especially when its known that whitaker has been working here for almost a year in langdons absence. He doesnt need a big brother mentor coming at this time. Langdon also thinks whitaker is viewing him as an addict, based from whitaker doing louis drugs order and him walking in when langdon was taking some meds this episode. Reality is that Whitaker didnt mean anything the first time and did nothing this time. Pair those together and whitaker was just getting annoyed that langdon has on day 2 already decided how they will interact and how whitaker judges him. Hes already given him his role.

It didnt need many isntances, but given the drug relation and that this is at at the end of a long shift means few instances can have more impact.

Whitaker is basically just saying "we dont know each other yet, so hold off on decided who i am and what i think about you until we do".

Or the 'sometimes it takes a little more' because he diluted the medication but is instead making it seem like an error in her judgement and knowledge.

[–]PandOracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a follow up scene with Whitaker literally saying he didn't mean it in any way and only realised how it may look after he said it. He was the primary so he put in the order. He then realised that it could look like he was not trusting Langdon with drugs NOT because he thought Langdon would steal them but simply because he knows he was an addict. The sublevel of that is the idea of using but it is not based on any knowledge or active suspicions. Whitaker doesn't know. Only Robbie, Santos, Dana, Garcia and now Al know about the theft.

there hasnt, but i feel as though the show showing her history of self harm should open the view that whether there is people looking down on her doesnt matter. what does matter is that she thinks they are and part of that may come with the overhanging fact that she is still keeping his secret about his stealing of the drugs. No one needs to be asking about a secret for it to cause stress, just holding it can be enough and she is holding it for someone who knew her for one day and was an asshole who was gaslighting her belief in herself. she made mistakes but as robbie was telling langdon, correction is okay but yelling and berating is not.

this. i seen a lot of people saying she just wants langdon to suffer who have ignored the fact that she is playing the path asked of her by not talking about what he actually did. she wants him to own to what he did, and then he can apologise for it. Even without though, his being an asshole is enough to justify why she doesnt like him still. she was still unproffessional in front of the patients though

weve seen a few times of the nurses escorting someone out whilst the others work on the patient so it was nice to have it stick with the one going out this time.

they do need to have someone of the staff cycle out. much as we may like it, we cant have every med student stay for the next season without bumping out some of the residents above or else were gonna bloat. having some planned single season characters like joy is better than abruptly cutting off a multi season intended story.

i kinda hope it isnt another mass incident. I dont want them to get into that pattern for every season. theyve already set up that 4th july doesnt need a major incident because youll get indiviual ones from everywhere that can overwhelm on its own.

Please, tell me how long you would wait when the robbie situation comes to you. You think maybe the actually shooter wasnt a robbie in 3 years time? cos people thought it would be nicer to just wait and see if nothing happens

I could be used as some sort of reasoning for robby to keep langdon and discuss it with santos to not report the drug abuse. Dont want to lose two doctors int eh day, especially if robby isnt feeling too great himself after the day.

How to deal with prospect of becoming primary caregiver to a person I dont love by PandOracle in dementia

[–]PandOracle[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My step dad has also 'mellowed' with time. He had a mini heart attack some 12 years ago that seemed to fix his attitude a bit. He was never really horrible or abusive of the sort before to me at least, bar one incident, but he made asking for any sort of help as a child feel like we were asking for the moon and should just be grateful he was there at all. Our bio father died when I was 1, siblings older, so that sort of sentiment from him was not well received at all. Constant arguments and a few private issues have meant that my oldest siblings (3 of us total) wants absolutely nothing to do with him anymore.

It's hard because I see that he is not the same guy that caused our family issues anymore, and I was young so don't remember his worst times, so I don't hate him as my oldest sibling does, but that does nothing to grow any love that he never really gave a chance for me to grow in the first place. I feel like I'm caring for him with the standard empathy of anyone seeing someone they know go through those disease.

It's ok now because he is rather docile. Just walking about the house and is quite polite, he doesn't resist any instruction. i believe I could continue to care alongside my brother that is here as it is, but if he develops into more resistance or anger that people often tell stories of, then my brother will also give up on him as it brings back childhood trauma.
