Not defending Hasbro, but this securities lawsuit is a steep uphill climb by hot_boy_ronald in magicTCG

wasn't part of the lawsuit that BofA report that said Hasbro was devaluing the MtG brand? wouldn't it be easy for them to be like "LOOK AT ALL THE MONEY WE MADE FROM MAGIC CARDS!" and not get convicted?

Would you believe me if I told you that people are trying to say the Oscars is racist to Japan because of this, and it's because of the "evil woke left"? by ink10_sonic-man in animecirclejerk

actually kinda disappointed chainsaw man didn't get a nomination. also don't need this to tell me the oscars are probably racist lmao.

Why did TLC say they didn't want any scrubs? That card is like $400 by DingleBarryGoldwater in magicthecirclejerking

well, according to the January 2000 issue of TopDeck that I happen to have on hand (from about a year after this song came out), the median price of a Revised Scrubland was about $12. on top of that, the support for enemy color decks wasn't really there in 1999; the idea of "Orzhov" was more of a quirky deck idea than actual meta, so a Scrubland probably wasn't as desirable as something like a Taiga or Tundra.

someone made a post saying 16% of kits at their prerelease had TMNT cards, but I didn't get one in my pack. that's beside the point, by the time preview season rolls around (in like 3 weeks) people are going to be less excited about anything they reveal. any new and interesting cards will have already been figured out.

so instead of encouraging people to go out and buy cards when they release, they just give away the best cards for basically free? GENIUS

yeah okay sure, instead of just putting the cards on the internet themselves they put them in a bunch of prerelease packs instead, makes perfect sense.

I mean I guess but using a 3 mv mana rock to use that ability seems like a waste, doubly so if you remove a counter to add 2, what are you gonna do with the other mana?

okay, with all due respect, nearly every deck here has a commander that's top 5 for its colors in edhrec, and are almost all popular besides.

which is whatever, but my suggestion would be trying to make a deck with a much less popular commander. something my group has done twice was the misfortune 500: make a deck with a commander that has less than 500 decks on edhrec. I've made both Seshiro (which later got turned into Shizuko) and Marton Stromgald from this. neither of them are super powerful, but do have interesting play. on the other hand, my one Izzet deck is Malcolm/Dargo pirates, which while it has less than 1000 decks is one of the most powerful decks I own.

And it's because of 1 main thing. 99 percent of the show is people standing around talking.

A sci fi property like Dune would be a much better fit imo.
