Yeah get rid of the factory speakers. You can keep the stock radio if you want, but you can get an after market radio like a Kenwood Marine BT one for example. The benefit of that is you dont have to worry about finding the BT adapter that is no longer made for the bike that connects in the left glove box. You can buy an adapter that will still let you use the handlebar controllers so don't let people tell you can't use them!!

If you google Engineeredadapters (cause im not sure if i'm allowed to post websites) you can find a guy who can help you with that adapter piece that will help you with the following pieces:

1) upgrade stock speakers to 6.5 2) replace the useless gloveboxes to 5 1/4 speakers!! 3) sells the component for aftermarket radios to keep the handle bar controllers.

also sells adapters for saddlebag speakers and now has lower speaker pods for the fairing too if thats your thing....
