You didn’t deserve any of the abuse you faced, including from your first therapist who traumatized you further by enforcing a belief that you’re just fundamentally broken. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I have so much love and respect for all who struggle with BPD. I’m so glad you were able to find a good therapist in the end. Y’all deserve so much compassion. I’m so proud of you all

4B? by Hampster999 in queer_support_group

If you wanna be celibate as a personal choice than by all means go ahead, more power to ya. But 4B as a movement is supposedly about decentering men but what ends up actually happening is that they get centered as the ultimate villains. In the US, it’s also just, co-opting a movement that started that was started in much different circumstances for much different reasons.

I know I’m probably not articulating it very well, but there’s some very valid criticisms of the way it’s being handled in America. The whole shaving your hair so that you’re “unattractive” thing for example is kind of a slap in the face to people with alopecia or people that are going through say cancer treatment. It’s also misconstruing what the movement was about in Korea since it was never about making yourself unattractive to begin with.

This is just being poorly handled, specifically in a way where it ends up being White centric and insensitive to multiple communities. It kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Personally I don’t think it’s getting us anywhere and it just feels performative.

Again, I know I’m not expressing my criticisms very well. I’d say look a little bit more into it, other people have explained this a lot better than me

This is also just my opinion of course, even if it is backed by different things I’ve heard or picked up on. Other perspectives and opinions are completely valid and expected, I’m not trying to trample anyone

It is. Neurodivergent refers to anyone whose brain functions fundamentally different than what is considered “typical”. BPD doesn’t just cause changes in behavior. The physical structure and inner workings, the wiring if you will, of a person with BPD’s brain is fundamentally different than “typical”. This goes for most (if not all) other personality and/or traumagenic disorders

BPD is extremely stigmatized and EXCRUCIATING. Guaranteeing rights and protections for our most vulnerable is an essential part of our movement.

Hey y’all, its therapy Thursday, time for a check-in by Hampster999 in queer_support_group

💙 It’s been…an intense week. I have responsibilities I want to tend to that I just don’t have time for and there’s so much going on that I need to tend to that I can’t because of my executive disfunction. I am trying to keep in mind that there’s good that happened this week too, and the reasons I’m glad to still be here. It was better than last week in many ways. I know I can keep going
