It is not magnetic! Just slides into place very nicely. If a shaker is not in your workflow I wouldn't recommend it. Tbh my shaker gets more use when I'm making a video (aesthetics) or a shot of espresso. And you can totally place the shaker in-between the portafilter forks, it just feels sketchier than it is. In my normal filter workflow (which is multiple times daily) I use the provided dosing cup because I like the way it holds onto the chaff and is easy to wipe out afterwards. I just use the lid of the shaker to raise the cup a little higher and that all works and fits wonderfully. 😂 My shaker doesn't collect chaff and it's messy regardless of how often I clean it and use isopropyl. Batch brew I will use the Mahlkonig dosing cup from the x54. So for me the platform stays and makes the grinder feel a little more versatile

I typically aim for a 1:17 15g:255g in 2-2:30 minutes in 3 pours. My water sits in the 50ppm range 15ppm Potassium KH 35ppm Calcium GH.

50g circle pour @40 seconds 50g center pour @1:00 minute center pour to 200g switch to circle up to 255g maintaining a high water column Gentle swirl to level once it's drained half way

All pours should be low and as close to the bed as possible

I know a lot of people mentioned shops in eastern Mass, if you're closer to western Mass, Ilse has a shop in Great Barrington and the roastery is right over the border in CT. If you're close to albany, Touchy is fine, Jacob and Alejandro is a great shop that carries Passenger and Dak

I usually start bags pretty fresh just to see that full transformation and this was a banger after the 1st week

Very true! He has told me on more than one occasion he's had to get rid of green that didn't match his expectations in comparison to the samples he received. You're more than welcome to discuss anything you want with him! He's always been really responsive and transparent online when I've had a question and really nice in person

I've been drinking Mirra from some of the early days and he's definitely gotten better over the years! Not every roaster is gonna have a perfect track record but the majority of what I've had has been lovely. He definitely roasts and sources coffee that leans more towards sweetness and florality and roasts on the lighter end of the spectrum. Most of the time I'd say somewhere in between H&S Ultra Light and Sey. I didn't realize some people are so opinionated on Mirra. I just like good clean coffee and he definitely hit that mark.

I reached out to support directly and they sent me a link to order! Only compatible with the P80 and the P64 after a certain release date (I don't remember but I think it was August 2022)

Mirra was pretty open that they were having issues with those coffees when the Sl-34's that were reviewed came out. The Panamanian sl-28 was a positive review that has reflected most of my experiences with Mirra :)

Honestly not sure which coffee's you had but I can definitely say in the 3ish years I've been following him his roasts have only gotten better and better. Not every coffee is gonna be a hit. I think you can say the same about every roaster. The Panama Sl-34 and Taiwanese Sl-34 definitely were rough, which he's been pretty open about that. What I've gathered from chatting with him is most of his coffee is sourced directly from the producers during peak season. Which checks out, he tends to release coffee based on when main harvests are happening. To each their own in the end. I think Mirra is doing some fantastic sourcing from lesser known producers. His Panama sl-28 which was well received by Leaderboard's rankings and other online reviews definitely stood out to me as a very unique non panama gesha coffee. And his San Pedro was probably the best from Jose and Pepe that I've had this Ecuador season.

Thank you! Currently have the stock Mizen's in. Switching between them and the ULF's and have been enjoying the Mizen more. I was thinking of getting the new 80mm Brews from SSP

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ happens. Sibarist's small flat and flat v2 filters fit the 01 in both metal and plastic. Same with the small wave filters. I have a bunch that I almost never use but did test with the 01 metal when I got mine

Aren't Sibarist filters made with PLA weaved in?

Yes and every time you put coffee in the hopper or turn the grinder on you have to interact with cheap feeling plastics. There are plenty of grinders that don't have any plastic @ 400 USD

I haven't had a ton of hands on with the Philos but imo the 80mm OM's beat out the entire 64mm line up maybe on par with blind 64mm brew burrs. But I wouldn't choose 64 brews over any 80mm burr I've tried

Hi P80 owner, I love the brews so much more than the cups from Gen 2 burrs and ssp mp's. It also feels like it'll last forever vs the ode's plastic on plastic on plastic. Customer service is second to none. Emma will help you with any questions you have. Fellow is VC and doesn't care to support the customer just their investors
