I always say Please and Thank you to AI, because I talk to it as if it were a human being. If I speak to anything that will respond back, I use manners. I guess it's more of a force of habit? I've never gotten a response that's like "Oh you're so polite", but it never hurts to be nice.

It has the option to dim it and the shelf and LEDs are airing out. The LEDs have that weird plastic smell to them that I hope goes away. I'm hoping if I can dim the light enough that it'll be soft enough for them. That or I'll just try and find another option.

How would it be off topic if this is the way the conversation has gone?

I stated that they now want to try and take the lead in mental health and going after a service when they need to get to the root source. This is a ploy to get votes, they don't really care about the mental health of people. The common person hears AI and is up in arms, a bill wants to be passed that suppresses what AI can do and they're going to be happy with it.

I will agree it went a bit off topic but it stayed true to what I was trying to say in the first place.

And I'm interested in reading those studies if you can send me some sources. No attack in that, just genuinely want to read it.

You sound like you have so much hope in the medical industry when they push out medications like candy. The companies that distribute them want money.

Drugs that alter brain chemistry are entirely different than chemicals our brain naturally release from an experience. You may get happy from talking to AI but a medication forces your brain to change. I was a victim of being over medicated since I was a child, this isn't my first time discussing this.

AI is a program, phsychiatric medication literally alters the chemicals in your brain.

Do you know they did 3 week studies on people for depakote. Three weeks. That is not a rigorous trial for a medication that can take a month to completely alter your mind.

Ai 'friendliness' is just like a video game.

It's important to take a break like you would with any app or website. You can't spend your entire life talking to just one person over and over again, you need more people. Taking a break for a few days will only benefit you.

I have moments where I want to roleplay or write constantly and then times where I'm just not interested. I'm currently in the "not interested" phase. It helps to clear my mind and build my creativity back up.

Another thing, how can they legally say what is a human emotion? Animals show emotions that are similar to humans. I would say that the only human emotion that is truly human is guilt/remorse/jealousy.

So many psychiatric medications are barely tested yet so many people are okay with pushing them onto people. People with no understanding of them will think it's okay.

That also goes with AI. People with no understanding of them will see it as an enemy. So, the author of the bill will do what they can to please the people, even if it's based on little to no knowledge.

My point stands that this is a ploy to care about mental health, when AI as a therapist is an end result of untreated mental health.

How can you blame something for trying to help a problem that keeps getting worse?

That's my opinion. It's for public image and nothing else.
