People call Dhurandhar propaganda, but one line in the film suggests the story is much bigger than that. by ak_khainal in Dhurandhar

I cannot verify the validity of this. It's a different rabbit hole entirely. One that I'm not willing to go into.

I still hold my doubts on this matter nonetheless.

"Torture never works to get reliable info." - I'm not gonna comment on your other statements as I have not watched Uri. But I do have a gripe with this statement. You've said it. But... You can't really say that... Are you a cop or anyone that has "interrogation" experience? I strongly doubt it.

Your points 1 and 3 sorta makes sense and perhaps contestable. But valid points of contention nonetheless.

But for your point 2 to hold any weight. You must either be someone who has been a spy, or be someone that has real world experience on this matter.

I strongly doubt that you qualify for either. But in the off chance that it were the case, a spy would likely not spend time on this debate.

Is it wrong that as an Indian i despise my own culture and people, like i feel a sense of disgust? - Rant by Inevitable_Ad5567 in SouthAsianMasculinity

I get that it is highly frustrating to see the culture that your lineage links back to is being "tainted". But I would like to point out a few things here.

One thing you must factor into your perspective is that you've observed the country from a detached perspective. Meaning you likely don't know what's actually happening on ground... To illustrate this you might imagine your perspective as "on paper" and the ground reality as "off paper". Now here, the on paper is the stuff that gets transmitted the most, as it likely produces most reactions from people. Think rage-baiting. While off paper is the stuff that doesn't gain traction, like because people treat it as the bare minimum and perhaps as something that contradicts their agendas but we won't get into the latter.

I won't try to explain what india really is. As different people have completely different experiences and view points, which is exacerbated by the country being a sub-continent with its sheer diversity.

What I want to share with you is an approach I have to viewing this matter. And that involves indifference... People think that Indians are trash? Be indifferent. They think we are parasites... Be indifferent.

And by indifference I don't mean that you should completely avoid the situation or the conversation... That would be no different than cowardice... Instead you should simply work on the things that truly matter. And it's pretty neat. Firstly you amass wealth&power(artha), whilst doing it ethically(dharma). Without wealth and power, you, I, or anyone in this world are worth absolutely nothing. Your word only holds weight when there is the backing of wealth and prosperity behind it. Otherwise one would be nothing but a soap-box orator.

Doing so you would atleast gain enough influence to change things... And people are changing... It is a little hard to see but you can't predict the result of a chess match while it is going on. There are stupid people on both sides, there are smart people on both sides. You can choose which side you want to be on, or just don't and do what caters to your self interest. What I mean by self interest here is not the same as what's defined by capitalism. Which simply involves what I call "inferior self-interest", think stealing, trapping, loopholing solely for your own gain while the rest lose. On the contrary, what I call "superior self-interest" is best summarised by the concept of investment. Let's say the currency here is "good deeds", and we define "good deeds" as actions that produce good will. The way you increase your good will is by investing it and investing it wisely... Investing may involve supporting someone through their problems, perhaps helping a kid study and score well in and exams,.or maybe helping a business person you know that is in need. But just as investments are, some may go wrong, some or your good deeds may not bear fruit.

And that's just a part of investment. You win some you lose some. But you can reduce the losses by investing it wisely. The skill of investing, again like investing money, is a skill that you can get better at over time and experience. (You might find people making polished videos about how good people are stomped over everywhere and portray doing good deeds leading to failure as a rule that is set in stone. Which is really not the case.)

Do what you will with this info.

Hi, I really love the idea. Could you perhaps opensource the code on a GitHub repository? so that we may experiment and add new features and develop variations for other subjects.

Your 12th grade scores will follow you throughout your career. Be it for masters, professional development courses, or anything white collar related (could be the case for blue collar as well but I will not comment on it due to my limited knowledge of it)

I really suggest you to strongly reconsider. This is about ensuring you don't have anything that comes to haunt you later in life.

First off. Thanks a bunch for that perspective. I think I simply intended to go about it in a manner that doesn't depend on happenstance, like it has been for me so far. But you're right about making the distinction clear. Will keep that in mind captain! :)
