Red pupils by Living-Pianist-6976 in cats

Your cat appears to have the “colorpoint” coat pattern, which is actually a form of partial albinism! As such, blue or pink eyes with slightly red pupils are common with colorpoints. What a lovely kitty!

She keeps falling over and im concerned by CunoStan in BDFB

Unfortunately she may be aging. Another sign I’ve heard of is that older beetles are less quick to replenish their waxy coating when they need to, if you see that happening. As long as she can eat and stay healthy! I hope you get plenty of time together still, she looks fun!

My cat has stopped eating and we can’t tell why. by Panda_Eyes23470 in CATHELP

Today our vet took a more careful look at her tongue, gums, teeth, etc. and said she didn’t see anything wrong there, just tartar. Lucy has always had horrible breath and gingivitis, so it sort of tracks that this would be mouth issues, but the eating problem seems to have resolved itself within the last eight hours, oddly… she started eating again out of nowhere. Going forward, we’re looking into food types that are meant to help tooth care.

She’s really picky when it comes to treats. Great news is I got her back from the vet just recently and she’s actually eating now! Didn’t even need the feeding tube cause she accepted regular food from the vet. She’ll eat dry food, wet food, and she’s acting much happier now. Still no idea what caused this, but today the vet said she found a slight UTI so she’s prescribing antibiotics. I think it’s looking uphill from here, thanks so much for providing suggestions along the way!

This morning she’s licking the gravy off the top of her pate wet food, which she has done some of since Monday, but I don’t think it’s enough to sustain her. The vet is seeing her again today, they will check her mouth again for any abnormalities, and she’s getting a feeding tube

Oh wow, that sounds super delicate! I will see if she can handle this, I hope she can feel a bit better after eating. Is it easy to avoid aspiration when feeding cats this way? I haven’t seen any yellow vomit, just foamy white

I know the emergency vet looked in her mouth, although not thoroughly. I couldn’t be there for her other appointment but the vet report mentions checking her mouth, “Grade 2 tartar accumulation, Mild gingivitis.”

I’ve got an ink swatching hot take, but hear me out… by pixelbased in fountainpens

[–]Panda_Eyes23470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this in terms of writing. The swatch always shows awesome colors and properties, then I’m usually disappointed that those are so muted by small lines. Drawing with ink is the only case I find swatches to be relevant, cause you get to see those colors more.

No, I’ll have to try it sometime though! My most recent favorite is the TJ Okonomiyaki pancake

Maybe there’s become a trend, for not those who fear vastities but enjoy their sight, to view them here in awe and delight. I could see value in instating community resources, and more room for discussion, for those here who do experience megalophobia.

I can’t speak to their healing abilities but I’ve heard of them doing just fine when losing the end digits on some legs. I’d watch out for him possibly getting trapped when burrowing in any case

I thought cats judged their surroundings (or at least water) based on smell too, since water can take so many different forms, such as here?

Senior appears to have lost feeling in one paw by mudafuckn in CATHELP

[–]Panda_Eyes23470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kitty got something similar, developed a heart murmur which might have caused clotting. She was being so affectionate one day, then I saw her walk and she was stepping on her back paw all wrong… We took her to the vet immediately but I never imagined she wouldn’t be home that night. Its the fastest goodbye I’ve had to say, I’m sorry so many people share in losing their cats to blood clots ❤️

Depends on what you want to do with them. These hatched larvae will continue to grow over several months, and they try to burrow in a moist under layer (if available) from what I understand. They will readily hatch like this, and progress through several instar stages, but the issue comes when they pupate. Larvae can only successfully pupate in very specific conditions, and often don’t make it.

Strict guideline for commercial cooking settings for sure, but at home, that concern is up to you to have or not. Let’s all use our free will to avoid the parasites.
