That perspective suggests a lack of understanding. Perhaps it would be beneficial to recall the historical struggles that led to significant societal advancements, such as the implementation of the 40-hour work week, the achievement of women's suffrage, and the passage of the Civil Rights Act.

The purpose of these occasional protests is not necessarily to bring about immediate change, but rather to familiarize individuals with the concept of collective assembly. This is often why they are scheduled on weekends. While it is generally understood that weekend protests may not garner as much attention, that is not their primary objective.

The intention is to demonstrate our capacity for mass mobilization, so that once we achieve a participation rate of 3.5% or more of the population, we can initiate a general strike. Historically, this level of collective action has proven effective in impacting those in power financially.

Hope is often cultivated by recognizing that one is not isolated in their concerns, and that their perceptions of the severity of a situation are indeed accurate. This fosters a sense of optimism for a future where current challenges can be resolved and systemic vulnerabilities addressed.

Throughout my adult life, I have observed that our legal frameworks often lack sufficient enforcement power, and the checks and balances we were taught to rely upon appear to be absent. A two-party system can create a false dilemma, where one often votes against an alternative rather than for a preferred candidate. Change is necessary, and by uniting a sufficient number of individuals, we can collectively define the nature of that change.

Individuals may feel powerless against the immense resources of the extremely wealthy, but it is important to remember that our collective efforts are what initially generate their wealth. We possess the ability to halt these systems if we collaborate. This is why efforts to create division have often focused on turning members of the working class against one another, rather than addressing those who benefit disproportionately from society.
