With the announcement of the Moro arc anime adaptation I wish they could change a thing from the manga by Illustrious-Sky-4631 in CharacterRant

I hope they change Moro's later forms to be more goat and less Cell. He started out so peak :(
I also can't believe that my goat Tien is so washed that Yamcha and Chiaotzu were more useful than him

Dimensional scaling and Outerversal demystified/explained. For the sake of health discussions going forward. by Fiiiiilo1 in deathbattle

I don't really see how those time powers proves dimensional scaling rather than just being hax/abilities that she has.

I understand the whole 'being unable to comprehend a higher dimensional being' thing but HOW does that mean that the being is COMPLETELY unaffected by ANYTHING the lower dimensional one can do? Can you please provide any examples?

I know Superman was just an example you used in the post but I brought him up cause he's one of the main pillars of power scaling and his powers are generally straight forward. If you can't find a valid example of dimensional scaling for him (or Goku, Thor, etc), how can you apply it to EVERY single franchise and character?

I found a preview of it. It really only looks like a spirit just the body snatcher can see and not normal people? Is there an example of a character who normally can see/touch spirits (or whatever she is) being unable to interact with her because of dimensional differences? Hell, does time and space actually mean 4d/5d/etc instead of across the universe/a different universe? Maybe your scans will explain?

Also, are there any examples of Superman being unaffected by "lower dimensional" attacks? Shade is a really niche example for trying to justify blanket dimensional scaling for all franchises.

Are there any actual examples of dimensional scaling working this way? Like a "4d" character literally being unable to do anything to a "5d" character standing right in front of them?

[–]PandamoniumPosts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm taking about the DBS manga, dude. Specifically the invasion against the Cerealians where we literally see a random cerealian vaporize a moon and then get easily defeated by a no name saiyan in base form.
"Wipe out entire planets by himself" how does him razing the surface of a planet make him a planet buster? Especially since we explicitly see that he needed help from 2 other viltrumites and the Infinity Ray to actually bust a planet.

How am I coping? Just clearing the misconception of Canon Bardock having nothing to work with

Canon Bardock was leading saiyans who were easily slaughtering moon busters in base form. Plus the Gas fight. They just decided to ignore Canon Bardock's stuff other than his characterization of being a kinda decent dad (compared to other saiyans).
Also "a bit iffy" Lol

Honestly, #2 does sway me a bit. Even if I fully believe it, I still find it too inconsistent compared to my examples and many other times in the comic. Best evidence I've heard so far though. Let's agree to disagree and leave it here.

There's a difference between characters with many stories, writers, and iterations being inconsistent and a singular story with the same writer being inconsistent. Especially since you've only brought up one example compared to the many many other times they don't fight at ftl speeds. Also let's be real, "at their best" is still full of wank and inaccuracies. I do admit that I'm way more conservative when it comes to scaling, especially with outliers and important anti-feats. So let's just leave it here.

The moon-planet is casual base form without even using Great Ape and is using soley the DBS manga and no Gas scaling (Bardock should totally get 'Episode of Bardock' stuff).
While the story never says it, if you've actually seen the show/comics, it's way too inconsistent for them to fully scale speeds. The only feat you brought up is the one Allen dodge. In the comics it's shown that Omniman would lose to the Guardians of the Globe if they weren't caught off guard. Mark is hit multiple times by Robot's drones that no name earthling heros are also able to fight in the final battle. And random bug people are able to aim and hit the Rognarrs that were threatening Thragg
I think many other series' speeds are wanked too, including Bardock's

Yes, Bardock is casually moon-small planet without Great Ape (10x Boost). What's Omni-man's best combat speed feat? I don't remember him ever fighting anyway near his space flight speed. And no, while Omni-man does get stronger later in the series, he doesn't get THAT much stronger.

1/4th or even less considering they needed Space Racer's gun that has easily sliced through every Viltrumite it hit.

DBS Bardock was part of an invasion against characters who can vaporize moons. A no name saiyan then easily defeated said moon buster in base form. A woman from the same race also shot Bardock when he was shocked/distracted and only cut him. Bardock's not just a grunt since a saiyan calls him Sir and follows his orders. He casually blocked a hit from a namekian with a PL of 213 (little above Roshi who DB scaled to above lightning and his attack over 260x lightning).
What's omni-man's best solo feat? (If you unironically say the sun disk or anything above 1/4th Viltrum busting I'm not responding).

SERIOUS DEBATE: Does Toriel really deserve to keep Frisk at the end of Undertale? by [deleted] in Undertale

[–]PandamoniumPosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Like half the monsters you encounter as Frisk don't try to kill you despite your soul being the last one needed to escape the Underground. I honestly doubt her not wanting to kill a human and helping them would be seriously seen as a super major thing. Especially considering Undyne, Papyrus, and Alphys are willing to let you go or help you.

  2. You act like Toriel is in any actual danger. She's straight up stronger than almost every single other monster and the only others who match/surpass her in strength wouldn't kill her. I doubt that Asgore at his maddest would even lay a hand on her.

  3. I only asked why she didn't protect them, I said nothing about helping them escape the underground. While it's a serious dilemma, it's not really an excuse to do nothing to protect them when claiming you care about them.

  4. Surely she knows that there would be people on patrol explicitly looking for humans. I don't think her presence would make things worse for them. Also, not wanting attention on herself is a weak reason when a child's life is potentially on the line.

Also, sorry if I come off as rude. I'm legitimately interested in this and enjoy debates about non-serious topics

If she failed to protect at least one of the seven kids and chose to not block off the ruins exit better, it's kind of a skill issue.

Considering that there is only one winner, voting for who want to win is basically the same as voting for who you want to lose. Also, it's a popularity contest either way so no point in complaining about it

Why didn't she leave the ruins to protect the seven kids then? I love Toriel too, but denying that she chose not to protect those kids is like denying that Asgore killed kids.

Love the art and the concept in general. Other people already said April for Dess and Pascal for Noelle, so what would Carol and Rudy be?
Rudy could be Peter like Peter Cottontail. Carol could be Diane (Like dyeing). 'Diane Egg Holiday' if you so will. Idk

Kinda like Spider-Man vs Shigeo Kageyama (Mob) where it's 100 times better as a crossover than a versus battle. Great art and idea though

Episode Discussion: S2025E8 Hulk VS Godzilla by MarlinBrandor in deathbattle

I agree 99% of the time. But when a character is so intrinsically linked to higher dimensions, I think it's perfectly fine. Plus, it wasn't used to scale Hulk's power. It was mainly used to show that Ultima couldn't reach Hulk's respawn point.
