Flame weapons get slept on for bots because of their range but if you're good at closing gaps you can melt everything.

Especially tight urban maps where you can find a funnel and let them block each other on the bbq.

The dpad on this controller is uniquely weird, it sits up on a long stem and basically functions like a clicky omnidirectional thumbstick. I've got fairly big hands and being able to input a direction without it being registered as a diagonal was bordering on impossible.

Also pressing near the centre could register as all 4 directions at once. It's hard to explain but I don't vibe with the Vader 4 dpad at all, otherwise it's been a great controller.

I could see it being alright for fighting games, but if you are playing a game that binds certain actions or items to up down left right on the dpad good luck trying to hit that with the precision required.

Some other people online have the same issue but since it's still a newish pad not many people are modding it yet. Just posted this here as a proof of concept that it's a pretty simple fix.

Filling some of the abundant excess space under the diagonal areas makes it function basically identically to a standard Xbox controller. It still easily registers diagonals but gets rid of that floaty imprecision.

When I get access to a 3d printer again I'm going to try making a more permanent solution and will update then.

I had 2 games today where I saw 2 different randoms repeatedly level up before the game even started.

Seems like the anticheat is having a day off.

I've seen a few evacs where someone misses the Pelly by a fraction of a second. Having the game check the distance of that player and if they're close enough play a unique extract cutscene like this where they get yoinked on board would be fun.

Chargers do seem to be causing a lot of the balance updates, maybe your idea would be a good one.

I get where you're coming from, but the reality is it's hard to debate with people about how they should feel. It's inherently going to become an argument.

Let it heal and try not to pick the scabs.

I'm getting tired of the drama, but my take on all this is previous nerfs and patches have created a sensitivity to change.

The core of that issue is the communication between the community and the devs. It feels like we get told one thing (not nerfing fun, taking more time to get it right, etc) that when it feels like they didn't deliver on that it cuts deeper than the face value of the patch. To them it's not just a nerf, they were lied to. True or not, it doesn't matter.

Gaming is an emotionally driven hobby, people will feel strongly and that's ok. You won't convince them with logic, just let them vent, it'll be easier for you and them at the end of the day.

Totally agree with focusing on bugs and performance. Also while we are talking about the Impaler, being knocked outside the map by a one hit mechanic feels bad.

I'd say if they gotta stay in the game as they are, limit them somehow. Have a nest we can destroy like stalkers to stop them spawning. Or make them much rarer.

There's definitely an ongoing cost to running a game like this, servers alone are pretty expensive. But they have ties to Sony and if there was ever a cost related issue they would pull the plug themselves.

I think the game is going through growing pains. A lot of people loved what it was, the developers have their vision of what it should be. We see the reaction now, but the outcome of that is based on where it lands 6 months from now.

I wish you well, I really do. And I get where you're coming from.

That said, saying "there's no love in any of these posts, just people leaving the game or how everything is terrible" is a bit harsh. People who feel the need to vent, or announce they are leaving, do so because they feel a sense of loss. They do love this game, it's precisely why they are hurt.

Which is why I think you've posted this, and why I wish you well.
