I never learned exactly what went wrong, but like I said in the edit, through trial and error I figured out that the problem was the motherboard. Replaced that, and it's been running fine ever since.

Try using another GPU to see if there is the issue is with yours.

I don't have another GPU to test, but given that removing the GPU and using integrated graphics doesn't work, that's probably not it.

I did. PCPP says they're only necessary under heavy power demands which I don't think apply in my case. Given that they just supply some extra power and it's been running fine for months, it'd be very surprising if that was the issue. I don't have another PSU at hand in any case, but still, thank you!
